The Direct Care Staff provides compassionate, hands-on support to residents in a group home setting, ensuring their daily needs are met and their well-being is prioritized. This role includes assisting with personalcare, facilitating activities, administering medications, and ensuring compliance from all regulatory bodies. The Direct Care Worker plays a vital role in helping residents achieve their individual goals, promoting their independence, and enhancing their quality of life.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED
One year experience in care and/or education of children.
Must be at least 22 years old.
A valid California driver's license is required of staff who have regular driving duties, and the driving record must meet the requirements of their position and be approved by the agency's insurance company.
Essential Job Functions:
Ability to multi-task, delegate responsibility, be open and flexible to change and hold staff accountable.
Physical capability to restrain children, lift over 20 pounds, and engage in physical activity including various sports, sitting, walking, bending, climbing, kneeling, twisting, reaching, etc.
Physical, mental, and emotional health adequate to perform duties.
Operate a vehicle for work-related activities, including visiting clients, attending meetings, and other necessary appointments or engagements.
Responsibilities:
Set and enforce limits and appropriate consequences for clients.
Properly administer medication for the therapeutic treatment of clients.
Carryout individualized plans and work toward objectives agreed upon by clinical staff and/or placement worker where applicable.
Assist in resolving group and/or individual client conflicts.
Assist in client school learning programs and activities.
Safeguard the dignity of each child and protect the rights and the individuality of each child to enhance his/her self-respect.
Complete all required documentation with specific timeframes, utilize proper agency forms, ledgers, and logs in accordance with governing procedures.
Maintain adherence to clinical program policies, procedures, and other regulatory guidelines.
Report any event that may impact health, safety, and welfare of clients including issues of suicidal or homicidal intent and child abuse, verbally and with internal incident report form.
Properly administer medication for the therapeutic treatment of clients.
Report containment's, illnesses, missed medication, restrictions and other incidents daily to supervisor.
Responsible for preventing and controlling infection.
Responsible for maintaining a culture of quality and safety.
Effectively use de-escalation skills and techniques for crisis prevention.
Properly administer the C-SSRS to help prevent suicide.
Effectively use Therapeutic Crisis Intervention techniques for crisis prevention and/or intervention.
Interaction is appropriate and sensitive to client's culture. Interaction is appropriate with client's developmental level.
Other:
Attend all required meetings and trainings.
Report any suspected child or dependent adult/elder abuse or neglect immediately to direct supervisor or utilize the chain of command if supervisor is unavailable.
Report any client imminent danger to self or to others or gravely disabled immediately to direct supervisor or utilize the chain of command if supervisor is unavailable.

What does an Emergency Cellphone Responder do?
You would provide 1:1 support to adults with developmental disabilities in their home and throughout their community. Compensation:
$28.62 per hour during support hours.
$75 stipend for each 24 hour shift of on-call on weekdays.

Four hours of training shifts paid at $28.62 per hour are guaranteed for each 24 hour on-call shift.

Program Delivery & Enrichment
● Oversee recess and lunchtime procedures, supporting in lunch preparation and supervision during lunch and recess.
● Facilitate structured enrichment activities, creative stations, and hands-on experiences that reflect a true enrichment program - not passive supervision.
● Support enrichment instructors by managing transitions, attendance, safety protocols, and behavior expectations.
● Plan and lead weekly “Free Session” enrichment options that encourage creativity, exploration, teamwork, and problem-solving.
● Assist with program operations like Movie Days, Snack Shack, and other program traditions while maintaining consistency and organization.
Safety, Supervision & Procedures
● Supervise students in TK-5th grade during morning and afternoon sessions, maintaining proper ratios at all times.
● Oversee assigned playground zones and indoor spaces, ensuring safety, engagement, and adherence to school expectations.
● Follow all sign-in/out procedures with accuracy and consistency.
● Prepare and distribute daily lunch meals according to established logs.
● Adhere to all safety, injury, and behavior reporting procedures while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
● Participate in opening and closing duties, including setting up daily materials and completing end-of-day room procedures.
QualificationsRequired
● Minimum 2-3 years of experience working with children in a school, before and after-school, summer camp, or ministry setting.
● At least 1 year of ministry experience, preferably children's ministry, youth ministry, or church-based programs.
● Demonstrated experience in summer camps, enrichment programs, or activity-based leadership.
● Strong classroom management, communication, and team collaboration skills.
● A teachable spirit, willingness to receive guidance, and desire to grow in ministry leadership.
● Ability to reflect and uphold Brave Christian Schools' values through conduct, service, and daily interactions.
● High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant coursework in Child Development or Education preferred.
● Current CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain upon hire.
Preferred
● Experience planning or leading devotionals, small groups, or faith-based activities with children.
● Familiarity with enrichment planning, youth mentoring, or SEL-based programming.
Work Schedule

Position Summary:
The Resident Care Associate (RCA) provides personalcare, companion care, nursing assistance and other assigned tasks to residents living in Eskaton communities. The Resident Care Associate duties include direct resident care, assisting in daily living activities, grocery or personal shopping, errands and other domestic tasks as well as documentation of care provided. Duties and assignments may be adjusted at the discretion of the Resident Care Coordinator, Memory Care Coordinator, or Wellness Nurse based on an evaluation of resident needs.
The starting salary for this position is $23.00. Open positions include both AM shifts and PM shifts. PM shifts will typically consist of a weekly schedule of Friday-Tuesday.
Qualifications
Education:
High school graduate or G.E.D. preferred. Proficient ability to communicate orally and in writing in the English language.
Training and Experience:
Six (6) months experience in providing personalcare in a residential or long-term care setting preferred. Valid/current first aid certification.
Job Knowledge:
Knowledge in performing personalcare services in a residential environment. Ability to meet new and/or stressful situations with the appropriate responses. Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team, to share information freely, to use and seek supervision and consultation verbally and in writing, and be able to follow both verbal and written instructions.
The final candidate must successfully pass Eskaton's post offer, pre-employment testing which includes a criminal background check, drug test, TB screen test and health screen.
