SRWs are direct service staff working within a 24-hour, 7-days-a-week emergency shelter for homeless adults who struggle with a variety of issues such as homelessness, addictions, and mental health. The SRW provides intakes, orientations, and support for guests entering the shelter. The SRW will connect with public service agencies relevant to the needs of the shelter guests. Job Duties Provide support, supervision, and assistance to homeless adults who may be facing multiple barriers Accept referrals, and identify and share information with a variety of Lookout's external resources Refer guests to a variety of community services Interview and provide basic necessities; ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all Complete required records and maintain statistical data Support others in the shelter who are in need of assistance Provide assistance for new staff Job duties are complex and may have a few disagreeable factor Employees are expected to remain alert and attentive during working hours. Education and Experience All direct-care staff shall be at least 21 years of age and possess a high school diploma or its equivalent (10 O.S. § 401 et seq.); the completion of thirty semester hours from an accredited college or university or one year of security experience; plus three years of security experience working with juveniles in a residential care and treatment facility. Work Schedule Central Oklahoma Juvenile Center is a 24-hour facility. This position is subject to shift work and applicants must be willing to work any shift as needed to provide coverage. Patrols facility grounds, juvenile living quarters and work areas on an assigned shift while observing the activities and movements of residents; checks authorized persons in or out of buildings and grounds area while assuring unauthorized persons are denied access. Checks the physical security of the facility, including doors, windows, and lighting. Completes written and/or typed reports on a variety of incidents and residents' behaviors; sends and receives verbal transmissions over a hand-held radio; maintains a written log of daily facility activities; communicates by telephone with emergency responder agencies in crisis situations. Provide safe and secure transport services for OJA custody youth to and from placement, juvenile detention centers, court hearings, and various other appointments such as medical, dental and mental health evaluations. Will have responsibility for GPS monitoring, tracking, inventory and documentation in assigned areas. Other high risk transportation duties as assigned and specified through the Performance Management Process (PMP). Assists other OJA employees as needed/other duties as assigned. Level Descriptor RCS I This is the entry level of the job family where employees are responsible for performing basic and routine duties and receiving formal on-the-job training relating to the safety and security of the juvenile residents and staff in a treatment environment. Employees are responsible for performing routine entry level duties while in a training status to build their skills in providing resident supervision and managing, observing and recording behavior of residents. In this role the employee will attend orientation and training to learn policies, practices, and procedures utilized in the residential and the community service treatment programs of the juvenile justice system. RCS II This is the career level of the job family where employees are assigned a wide range of duties and responsibilities at a full performance level. Employees work independently enforcing appropriate rules and regulations to safeguard lives and property. In addition to security work, employees are required to furnish positive guidance, as well as sanctions for inappropriate behavior on the part of juvenile residents. Employees are responsible providing resident supervision, implementing group and individual treatment plans, developing constructive relationships with residents, coworkers, and other treatment team members. Positions will be assigned duties involving responsibility and sometimes hazardous disciplinary guidance and security work. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies RCS I required at this level include those at Level I plus the knowledge of behavioral problems typically found in delinquent residents; of methods and practices of household management; of environments and events that impact the problems of youth in custody; and of state statutes and agency policies concerning care of residents in secure facilities. Responsible for assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management, education, health promotion and care coordination for patients and families with acute and chronic health needs. Works with administrative, nursing, physician, and university faculty to assure safe, effective, quality patient care and to promote OU Health's educational and research missions. Provides care within their scope of practice as outlined by applicable state law, licensing, regulations, and institutional policy and practice agreements. This job description is a summary of the primary duties and responsibilities of the job and position. Essential Responsibilities: Clinical: Performs history and physical assessments of patients that are accurate, complete, concise, relevant and appropriate for age, gender and clinical problem. Orders appropriate diagnostic studies and correctly interprets results. Develops, implements, evaluates, and alters the plan of care as needed. Maintains accurate, complete, concise and timely documentation in the electronic medical record. Patient Care: Provides care that is patient and family centered, compassionate, appropriate and effective for the promotion of health, prevention of illness and treatment of disease throughout the lifespan. Facilitates consistent, coordinated care and clear communication among all members of the healthcare team. Incorporates the patient and family in care planning and treatment across settings. Considers cost effectiveness and risk/benefit analysis when making decisions about patient care. Uses evidenced-based medicine to systematically analyze and improve patient care practices. Develops, evaluates, and implements standards of care within area of specialization (policies, protocols, etc.). Research: Participates in research opportunities to advance the care and treatment of patients. Communication: Communicates and collaborates effectively with physicians, other health professionals and health related agencies. Counsels and educates patients and families. Minimum Qualifications: Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Professional Nursing if APRN, MSN or Master's in Physician Assistant Services. Experience: 3 or more years of experience as an Advanced Practice Provider in designated specialty preferred. License(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s) Required: Must have prescriptive authority within 6 months of hire. IF Nurse Practitioner: Active RN and APNP license in State of Oklahoma -AND- Certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner by the ANCC and/or the AANP IF Physician Assistant: Active PA license in State of Oklahoma -AND- Active Physician Assistant certification issued by the NCCPA. Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants must obtain the required licensure from the State of Oklahoma within 30 days after the offer of employment. All Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant applicants must have: Active DEA license or ability to apply for such license prior to or upon hire -AND- CPR certification and Advanced Life Support certifications if relevant to practice area (ACLS, PALS, NRP). Obtain within 90 days of employment in this position. Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Demonstrates knowledge of etiologies, risk factors, pathophysiology, presentation and epidemiology of medical conditions. Demonstrates a high degree of clinical expertise in working with patients with acute and chronic illnesses. Demonstrates proficiency in procedural skills pertinent to practice area.
