The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, technical wrestling knowledge, and a passion for mentoring young athletes as they prepare for higher levels of competition. Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Mentorship: Provide positive leadership and mentorship to student-athletes, promoting discipline, responsibility, teamwork, and respect. Skill Development: Teach age-appropriate wrestling techniques, strategies, conditioning, and safety practices. Program Management: Plan, organize, and oversee all practices, matches, and tournaments at the middle school level. Compliance & Eligibility: Ensure adherence to OHSAA and Garfield Heights City Schools policies, including academic eligibility and code of conduct standards. Game/Meet Preparation: Develop structured practice plans, strategies for competition, and in-meet decision-making to support team success. Safety & Supervision: Provide proper supervision and maintain a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment during all team activities. Collaboration: Work with the middle school wrestling staff, athletic department, and administrators to ensure program continuity and long-term athlete development. Community Engagement: Build strong relationships with families, staff, and the Garfield Heights community to support the wrestling program. Other Duties: Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Athletic Director or school administration.
