RESPONSIBILITIES
The Certified Personal Trainer will be responsible for providing one-on-one and couples personalized fitness instruction in person to clients at their home, apartment gym or outside while encouraging them to reach their fitness goals. Responsibilities are as follows:
Customize client workout programs developed from the Initial Assessment
Utilize the Svetness Fitness App for all client sessions, including programming & session notes
Demonstrate each exercise and ensure client is performing correctly with or without modifications
Conduct client Reassessments every 4-6 weeks
Maintain client session appointments through Svetness scheduling software
Able to provide a flexible schedule to accommodate client appointments
Able to commute to and from client sessions up to 45 minutes
QUALIFICATIONS
Certified Personal Trainer: Accredited by NCCA, DEAC, or NBFE.
CPR/AED Certification: Ensure clients' safety with up-to-date CPR/AED training.
Education and experience: High school diploma or GED equivalent and 1-3 years of personal training experience.
Strong communication skills: Effectively communicate verbally, in writing, and technically.
Knowledgeable in nutrition: Possess a basic understanding of nutrition and healthy living practices.
Fitness expertise: Familiarity with a variety of exercise equipment and personal training methods.
Physical ability: Capable of lifting, pushing, pulling up to 50 lbs. and performing athletic calisthenics duties.
Requirements for this position include the possession of personal basic training equipment to effectively assist clients in achieving their goals. It is important to note that clients may not always have access to the necessary equipment.

Job DescriptionAs a Fitness Instructor, you will be responsible for delivering pre-designed interval and resistance training workouts for up to approximately 36 members per session. This position requires strong communication, coaching and leading skills. Effective Fitness Instructors can expect to teach 4-8 fitness classes per week.
Reporting Structure
This position reports directly to the Fitness Manager and is responsible for coaching a minimum of 2 sessions per week. Ideally 4-8 sessions per week.
Duties & Responsibilities
Energizing and motivating clients throughout the sessions, modifying specific exercises to accommodate various skill levels, and ensuring the safety of participants regarding heart rate and exercise technique
Attend mandatory 2 day coaches course and complete audition
Facilitate the studio's class schedule to ensure scheduling optimization to build and maintain class size
Attending monthly fitness staff meetings and required educational presentations
Work hand in hand with front desk to ensure optimal client experience before and after sessions.
Must be available to coach at least one weekend per month.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Participates in the development, promotion and implementation of beneficial exercise programs and exciting health and well-being events, including Healthy Kids Day and Membership Challenges.
Interacts and engages with every visiting member, actively demonstrating the core values of the YMCA, Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.
Monitors members for injury prevention and proper equipment use, and professionally responds to emergency situations on the Wellness Floor when they occur
Participates in cleaning the Health and Wellness equipment daily, maintaining organization in Wellness Center, and reporting equipment or facility needs to the Health and Wellness Director
Ensures that YMCA members are complying with YMCA policies and procedures and Wellness Center rules and regulations.
Maintains organized records of member wellness appointments and follows up with participants as necessary.
Attends scheduled Health and Wellness staff meetings.
Interprets and communicates the Mission, objectives, and programs to members, program participants, community partners, and through fundraising efforts
QUALIFICATIONS:
Two years of college or equivalent required
Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Physical Education, or related field preferred.
One to three years practical experience in fitness instruction, personal training, athletic coaching.
National Accredited Personal Training Certification obtained within the first 6 months of hire.
Preferred Group Fitness Instructor Certification from one or more of the following: ACE, ACSM, NASM, NSCA, AFAA, or other nationally recognized certification.
Completion of YMCA required trainings upon hire
Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds.
Must be able to manage emergencies and respond appropriately and professionally
