RESPONSIBILITIES

About the Position
The PersonalTrainer is responsible for creating a positive member experience for all members, through the delivery of the onboarding process, group fitness, and ongoing member instruction in use of all equipment. The position will provide one-on-one training and small-group training to members. Responsibilities

Must assist with keeping the equipment and fitness area clean and maintained, as well as any other duties aimed at creating a positive member experience.
Demonstrates initiative to gain new clients by way of the Plan program, instructing or participating in Group Fitness classes, being proactive on the floor, and by seeking out referral clients.
Works to actively encourage, promote, and deliver quality group exercise, sports performance, training services, and other departmental products and programs to all members.
Ensures that the fitness floor is clean and safe at all times. Oversees the cleaning, preventative maintenance, and proper usage of all equipment. Recommends repair or replacement if damaged or not functioning safe or properly, and puts in work orders as needed.

Maintains a working knowledge of basic theoretical concepts and keeps current with research and trends in the field. Maintains or achieves new certifications and membership in professional organizations to increase training product value.
Participate in regularly scheduled Fitness Staff meetings with sales training, continuing education exercises, team building, and provide constructive feedback for the leadership team.

Requirements

CERTIFIED PERSONALTRAINER
The PersonalTrainer's focus is on helping the member “Get to a Healthier Place ” by employing both Anytime Fitness and the personaltrainer's creative approach. Responsibilities:

POSITION SUMMARY: The Wellness Instructor conducts a safe and effective Group Exercise class and instructs with a position and motivating spirit that is inclusive for all. About the Position
The Group Exercise Instructor (Yoga) is responsible for group exercise instruction that contributes to an exceptional experience in a safe and welcoming environment. This position reports to the Group Exercise Manager.
Responsibilities
Arrive 10 minutes before the start of class, have music ready and cued, programming prepared, and start and end class on time.
Maintain accurate attendance records.
Follow MVP Sports Clubs' guidelines for MOSSA and Les Mills program shelf life. Work with the Group Exercise Manager on modifying any non-MOSSA and non-Les Mills programs.
Ensure that all group exercise areas are always clean and safe.
Ensure proper usage and storage of all equipment.
Resolve member concerns and or refer/introduce members to the appropriate team member who can.
Enforce club rules and guidelines, taking appropriate action where indicated and reporting any problems to the Group Exercise Manager.
Respond to emergency situations, notifying the appropriate authority.
Participate in department events focusing on promoting the club and group fitness.
Personally, maintain a working knowledge of basic theoretical concepts and keep current with research and trends in the field. Maintain certifications and membership in professional organizations.
MOSSA, Les Mills, Barre Unhitched, etc., certified instructors maintain current status through subscription for quarterly education.
Contribute to the needs of the team but subbing classes as able.
Responsible for securing substitutes for classes and relaying information to the Group Exercise Manager via appropriate channels.
Leads each group exercise class format as required by MVP Sports Clubs or certifying body.
Able to authentically move and execute the fitness element being trained, including moving in time to music and safely demonstrating movements.
Able to present with a positive, encouraging demeanor that facilitates participant success.
Adhere to additional responsibilities and policies, adapting to changes and needs of the company.
Attend and participate in regular MVP Sports Clubs training sessions as directed by the supervisor.
Maintain a neat and professional personal appearance by wearing the MVP Sports Clubs uniform and name badge.
All other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Current certifications through ACE, ACSM, AFAA, or NSCA, or any unique certifications of a specialized group exercise class and/or format preferred.
A minimum of one (1) year of experience teaching various or specific group exercise programs is preferred.
CPR/First Aid Training. In the event a team member is hired without CPR or First certifications, they will be required to attend training within 60 days and will not be permitted to instruct until such certification is attained.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Must have physical ability to design & instruct classes according to best practices for safety & quality in alignment with industry standards of certifications.
Physical Requirements: Bend, stoop, crouch, climb, stand, sit and turn/pivot; Life/lower, push, pull and carry up to 40 lbs; perform office tasks using simple hand grasping, fine hand manipulation and reach associated with assigned tasks such as paperwork, typing, and/or word processing, filing, calculating and use of telephone; See, hear, and speak with sufficient capability to perform assigned tasks and maintain proper job safety conditions.

Essential Duties
Assesses health status of members, ranging from apparently healthy to high risk, to provide exercise and other wellness-related counsel/recommendations unique to each individual

Qualifications
Education and/or Experience
Degree in a health-related field preferred, preferably from a four-year college/university
Relevant work experience required; experience with older adult clientele preferred
Ability to teach basic balance, chair exercise and muscle conditioning group fitness classes; where applicable, aquatic experience preferred
Certifications
Fitness-related certifications (CPT, CSCS, etc) acknowledged
Current CPR/AED/First Aid certification required
