Job Summary
The PersonalTrainer is responsible for demonstrating competency in exercise prescription and the design and oversight of outpatient exercise programs for all adult and adolescent participants at the Wellness and Sports Performance Center. This position reports to the Assistant Director, Rehabilitation Services and operates within established organizational and departmental policies and procedures.
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree, preferably in an exercise science or related field, required.
Current Basic Life Support certification (BLS) from the American Heart Association required.
Prior experience working with athletes in a sports medicine environment preferred.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Design and implement appropriate exercise programs for individuals with previously identified orthopedic and/or neurologic dysfunction.
Help develop and refine exercise programs and educational programming for the youth sports population as well as the active adult population in the community.
Help develop appropriate home exercises for clients to maintain or enhance their performance in their desired sport and/or recreational activity.
Monitor clients throughout the duration of their session and assess for appropriate response to exercise.

Make reaching fitness goals achievable by assisting members and clients with education and guidance on comprehensive fitness programs including resistance and cardio-respiratory training, general nutritional guidelines, and nutritional product recommendations.
Meeting/exceeding minimum monthly company expectations including session service targets resulting in Personal Training revenue, supplement/nutritional product sales, and contributing to club success.
Training exclusively for Crunch Franchise. As a Crunch Franchise team member, it is a violation of our conflict of interest policy to conduct personal training sessions or perform any person training-related duties independently or at any company outside of Crunch Franchise. This includes working as an employee or independent contractor for another health club, personal training studio or private residence, or engaging in any other activities that represent a conflict of interest for Crunch Franchise.
Organizational Relationship: Reports to the Personal Training Manager, Assistant PersonalTrainer if applicable, Franchise partner or General Manager depending on club and market. This position does not have any direct reports.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: The PersonalTrainer is responsible for performing the following activities for the club:
Service and Train Clients [70% of time]
Create an outstanding initial personal training experience for introductory package clients
Prepare and deliver comprehensive fitness programs based on clients' goals that include appropriate exercise selection, nutritional programming and teaching a fitness lifestyle
Inform clients of the fitness tools available to assist them in achieving their goals
Set expectations and hold clients accountable to their comprehensive fitness programs through goal setting, follow up discussions, and tracking progress
Demonstrate safe and proper exercise technique to clients
Service Members [20% of time]
Instruct members on proper use of club equipment and exercise techniques
Assist, at the club management's request, in any member service activities (e.g., fitness seminars, boot camps, body fat tables, supplement/nutritional product demos etc.)
Understand all aspects and benefits of the CAMP CRUNCH Orientation and deliver a positive fitness experience to members and guests
Help with racking weights and assisting in maintaining a neat, organized and clean club
Additional/Misc. [10% of time]
Design comprehensive fitness programs using company-provided tools (dot FIT)
Schedule all personal training sessions, other appointments, and administration time using company systems (ABC/Datatrak)
Trainer Business Plan execution
Execute other duties as assigned

General Statement of Duties: The Group Exercise Instructor & PersonalTrainer will provide a professional level of guided instruction to the participants/clients. They will also play a role in the maintenance capacity of the facility making sure that equipment is being properly used, cleaned and maintained at all times. The Instructor/Trainer is responsible for the supervision and operation of the class, its participants, and clients. Additionally, all employees are required to provide a welcoming, inclusive, safe, clean and enjoyable, service oriented environment for participants at all times.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide a welcoming and safe fitness experience.
2. Conduct classes/sessions for participants following protocols as accepted and provided by the Wellness Center and industry standards for a great class/session experience.
a. Proper warm up, class routine/session workout, including a cool down/stretch period.
b. Accompany your class with appropriate music.
c. Instruct/Train within your knowledge and expertise.
d. Be aware or participant/client safety during class/session time(s).
3. Responsible for the appropriate exercise room setup and break down when applicable.
4. Manage checking in class participants or clients when necessary.
5. Responsible for the appropriate use of sound system when applicable.
6. Report any safety or equipment maintenance issues.
7. Adhere to all Wellness Center and departmental policies and procedures.

2. Current CPR/AED certification.
