DUTIES AND TASKS
As a Certified Fitness Coach, you'll deliver personalized fitness instruction either one-on-one or one-on-two, directly at clients' homes, apartment gyms, or outdoor locations, inspiring and guiding them to achieve their fitness objectives. Your key responsibilities include:
Customize client fitness programs based on the Initial Assessment
Conduct regular exercise sessions with assigned clients
Demonstrate exercises and ensure correct performance by clients

RESPONSIBILITIES

QUALIFICATIONS
Certified Personal Trainer: Accredited by NCCA, DEAC, or NBFE.

Education and experience: High school diploma or GED equivalent and 1-3 years of personal training experience.
Strong communication skills: Effectively communicate verbally, in writing, and technically.

Part-time Description
Under the direct supervision of the Executive/Wellness/Program Director, the Personal Trainer prescribes, develops, and assists clients with personalized fitness programs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Design and implement safe, effective, and enjoyable fitness programs that meet the unique needs and wants of each member. Keep accurate records of members' progress. Monitor proper executions, form and technique when demonstrating exercises
All personal trainers will have their clients sign the "YMCA Personal training Contract" prior to starting training with client
Plan and instruct individuals, small groups, or classes with personalized approach following YMCA standards and guidelines.
Contact clients on a regular basis to follow-up on progression of their fitness program.
All personal trainers will enter their availability into Appointment king at a minimum of one week in advance and schedule in their own clients in accordingly.
Arrive promptly for their clients, act professionally and dress according to the requirements: uniform shirt, neat shorts or warm-up pants, sneakers and YMCA name tag.
If unable to make an appointment with a referral, contact client directly
Discuss and promote all other YMCA programs
Motivate members to commit to long term participation
Respond to and report accidents and/or incidents to supervisor immediately.
Interact with members that aren't current clients. Assist with machine usage, appropriate exercise advice - do not give advice that you are not absolutely SURE is safe and appropriate.
Make sure that first time users are encouraged to go through the orientation process. ALL members must fill out the medical form. If you feel that there is a medical condition that requires further investigation or physician's approval, refer it to supervisor.
Be aware of signs that equipment may be in need of maintenance. If the equipment is not functioning properly, place an out of order sign on it and inform supervisor.
Ensure all participants wear appropriate exercise attire and footwear
Make sure all equipment is put away correctly following your sessions. This includes proper restacking of weights.
Attend regularly scheduled, mandatory staff meetings.
Responsible for upholding all staff safety requirements including cleaning protocols throughout the day, as required by my department.

Job Summary:
The Fitness Trainer is responsible for providing a safe and effective exercise environment for club Members/Guests through supervision of exercise programs, education of the Members/Guests in exercise and a focus on establishing a personalized program of exercise for each Member/Guest.
Day-to-Day:
* To provide supervision of the exercise and fitness areas of the club, including assisting Members/Guests with their exercise and fitness programs.
* To evaluate Member/Guest fitness needs and provide the appropriate exercise program for meeting those needs, including providing personal instruction.
* Conduct new Member FitStart appointments in accordance with club standards and track accordingly.
* Update fitness activities and programming on web page and/or Member communication board, as applicable.
* Responsible for daily processing of all accounting procedures around personal training and or group session(s) accurately.
* Responsible for submitting monthly forecasts for expected sessions, Fit Starts and New Client goals.
* Maintain current fitness-related certifications including CPR/AED and actively seek new education opportunities that are presented through ClubCorp partnerships.
About You:
* Ability to communicate effectively with proper grammar.
* Ability to work well under pressure, coordinating multiple tasks at any given time.
* Responsible for maintaining good conduct and safe working habits while in all areas, including all exercise areas and equipment are in safe and effective working condition, and assuring that others are acting safely.
* Customer service experience. Minimum of one year's experience in the fitness or exercise industry required.
* College Degree in health, fitness, or recreation related field preferred.
* Certification in CPR/AED. Certification from national organizations such as ACSM, ACE, PTAG, W.I.T.S, CSCS, TPI, MAT, NSCA, NASM required.
* A minimum of 5 hours of fee-based work per week.
* Indoor and outdoor work.
* High school diploma or equivalent required.

Primary Responsibilities
Administer InBody evaluations and EMS personal training sessions
Follow up via telephone, text and emails potential clients
Establish and maintain a high level of service according to company standards

Maintain knowledge and/or participation in all club services, programs and products
Instruct and demonstrate to members on the proper use of equipment and exercise techniques which may include operating equipment and dynamically moving weight up to 50 pounds

Attend all Fitness Coach related meetings/Trainings
Participate in community events to promote the BODY20 brand
Build community business relationships and partnership

Qualifications
Current nationally recognized Personal Training certification (preferred)
CPR/AED certification (preferred)
1-3 yrs of previous Personal Training experience (preferred)
Must be over 18
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Enthusiastic, energetic, personable, and friendly
Passion for health and wellness
Willing and able to work some nights, and occasional weekends and holiday
Ability to take 1-2 BODY20 sessions per week

Must be able to perform all essential physical aspects of the position which may include standing, sitting, running, walking, jumping, squatting, bending, and reaching. As well as pushing, pulling and lifting up to 50 lbs. at a time

About the Fitness Trainer Role:
As a Fitness Trainer, you will operate the Planet Fitness group fitness program (PE@PF). These responsibilities include:
Creating a class schedule for members. This includes Orientation and DYOP (Develop your own program).
Proactively engage with members on the club floor regarding their fitness goals; instruct them on how to safely use the equipment and provide support as needed.
Help to promote our Judgement Free Zone by connecting with members on the club floor, offering assistance and showing support in their fitness journeys while upholding club policies.
Frequently perform a comprehensive walk of all fitness areas to ensure a great member experience. Quickly address issues as they are identified.
Perform prospective member calls and tours; assessing their membership needs and offering Trainer services.
Daily responsibilities of the Fitness Trainer may also include:
Greet members/guests as they enter and exit the club; assisting them with any questions or concerns as they check in.
Answer phones in a friendly manner and assist callers with their inquiries.
Regular, consistent cleaning and sanitizing of all exercise equipment and Black Card spa amenities. This includes communal spaces as well as your assigned area.
Ensuring restrooms are clean and sanitized, stocked and clutter free by following the routine cleaning schedule.
