Must have you own reliable transportation. Dog Tired Pet Services is an established and well-loved pet sitting company that is seeking a part time Pet Sitter to add to our staff. We are looking for a reliable and compassionate pet sitters to care for our clients' beloved pets while they are away. As a pet sitter, you will be responsible for providing daily care, companionship, and exercise for pets, ensuring their well-being and safety. You should have a genuine love for animals and the ability to manage various pet care needs, including feeding, walking, and administering medications. Key Responsibilities: Provide daily care for pets, including feeding, exercise, playtime, and companionship. Walk dogs and ensure they get proper exercise according to the client's instructions. Administer medications or special care routines as directed by the pet owner. Maintain a safe and clean environment for the pets during visits. Clean litter boxes, pet areas, and any messes made by the pets. Monitor the health and behavior of pets, and promptly report any concerns to the manager/owner. Provide regular updates to pet owners, including photos, texts, or written reports through our secure portal. Ensure the security of clients' homes during visits by following their specific instructions for entry and exit. Respect clients' privacy and adhere to confidentiality agreements. Qualifications: Strong love and understanding of different types of pets (dogs, cats, small animals, etc.). Ability to handle pets of various sizes, temperaments, and needs. Knowledge of basic pet care & behavior. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Reliability, punctuality, and strong attention to detail. Neat and tidy in client homes. Ability to follow specific instructions from pet owners. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Flexibility in working hours, including weekends and holidays. You are available to pet sit over at least several major holidays: Memorial Day, 4th of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's. (Don't worry; you'll be paid an additional holiday bonus per night and will be able to have holiday plans of your own and we do try rotate them as much as possible.) Must have a smart phone for photos, messages and schedule access. Commit to work for us for at least 6 months or longer. The pets want to form a long term relationship with you. Must pass a Background & Reference Check Children and or significant others are NOT allowed to come with you into client homes Preferred Qualifications: Proven experience in pet sitting, dog walking, or other animal care roles is preferred. but not required. Certification in pet first aid or animal care. Experience with pets that require specialized care (e.g., senior pets, pets with disabilities). Physical Requirements: Ability to walk with dogs for extended periods. How to Apply: Please submit your resume and a brief cover letter detailing your experience with pets and your availability. Once trained in a few days, you will be paid 50% commission as well as tips provided by the clients. We Currently Are Hiring : Daily Dog Walking & Pet Sitters/Dog Walkers for Johns Island & James Island. We can be flexible with times and days of the week, but we hope you will be available for some rotating weekends. Also Hiring: Overnight Sitters also needed - This is where a pet sitter spends the night in a client home. The typical schedule we are looking for would be morning 7am-1pm, or afternoon 11a-7p, in addition to overnights 7pm-7am while spending the night in the client's home. Jobs last anywhere from 2 nights to a couple of weeks. Please be available for both long and short duration and some holidays are required. *The pay range for the overnight pet sitting jobs is from $47 a night to $52 depending upon the number of animals cared for. Please note: This is a part-time job to start (15-20 walks per week). More walks available as business increases. Dog walks are for 1-2 dogs at a time. You may be also pet sitting for cats as well, which are 30 minute visits. We also offer Wedding Nanny Services where we handle dogs for people's weddings. We are also looking for people who are available for Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays for 1-3 hours at a time to handle the pup's transportation (pet taxi to and from the venues), as well as handling the dogs for the wedding party, and or photos.
