Provide engaging, age -appropriate care for children (infants to 9 years old)
Travel to various family homes or hotels
Deliver exceptional, professional childcare and follow our high standards of service
Requirements:
Experience: 1 -3 years of professional childcare experience (nanny, babysitter, teacher, daycare worker, pediatric nurse, etc.)
Skills: Experience caring for infants through school -aged children
Age: Minimum of 18 years old
Availability: Have at least 2 -3 days per week
Transportation:
Valid driver's license and insured personal vehicle
Active Uber or Lyft account for emergencies
Certification: CPR and First Aid certified (or willing to obtain certification)
Flexibility: Must be able to travel at least 45 minutes to 1 hour one way
References: 1 -2 strong references or letters of recommendation
Pet -Friendly: Comfortable in homes with cats and dogs
Work Authorization: Clean criminal record and US work authorization required

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A PET CARE SPECIALIST
As a full or part-time entry-level Pet Care Specialist you will be excited to spend quality time with both dogs and cats! No two days are the same as you provide individualized care and attention to all the fur babies staying at Paws Awhile. You may interact with Pet parents as they drop off their pets, taking the time to learn about each animal's personality, wants, and needs. Then you will spend the day helping take dogs out to relieve themselves, cleaning their rooms and changing bedding and giving fresh water, and bringing dogs back to their rooms. You will help feed the dogs as directed. You will help scoop up behind the dogs. You will also help clean the areas next to where the dogs stay. You will take your turn cleaning the outside enclosures. You will help pick up dishes, and laundry, put on laundry, bring clean laundry to the appropriate areas, you will take your turn at putting laundry on to wash and dry, will help with putting the dog's bowls in the dishwasher, and then put them away. you will help take the dogs for walks and playtimes. You will need to be calm yet positive and energetic when you interact with the dogs. There is a somewhat similar routine for the kitties who are staying with us. Not everyone works with cats as some folks are allergic to kitties. You may help bring some dogs up to the reception room when a pet parent comes to pick up their fur baby. At that time you may let the pet parent know what a wonderful fur baby they have and how much fun you have taking care of them.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A PET CARE SPECIALIST

Strong Work Ethic, Strong sense of Integrity, and Reliable transportation
Heart for working with animals and fellow team members Animal care experience would be preferred but is not required for this position!
A high school degree or equivalent would be a bonus. Are you highly observant and detail-oriented? Can you adjust your behavior according to each animal's needs? Are you a team player? Can you maintain a positive attitude throughout the day? Do you have excellent communication skills? If yes, you might just be perfect for this animal care position!
WORK SCHEDULE FOR A PET CARE SPECIALIST
