Work closely with Drilling, Completions, and Facilities teams to optimize well design and maximize asset value. Analyze and recommend action on third-party (OBO) development proposals, including decisions on participation or divestment. Develop and guide flowback strategies to ensure new wells achieve optimal productivity. Monitor in-year production wedge performance and conduct regular forecasting and economic assessments. Archaea Energy, a bp company, is a leader in landfill gas to energy and the largest renewable natural gas (RNG) producer in the US. With big ambitions, we specialize in the development, construction and operation of RNG, landfill-gas-to-electric and dairy digester facilities. The team operates around 50 sites in 32 states with a robust development pipeline. About the role The Principal Facilities Engineer will be responsible for providing engineering support to operating the Assai Renewal Natural Gas (RNG) plant located in Throop, PA. A key asset for Archaea Energy, this facility converts landfill gas, collected at the landfill, into pipeline quality natural gas (High Btu or Renewable Natural Gas). The facility processes the landfill gas by removing the majority of the non-methane components including CO2, Nitrogen, water, sulfur and volatile and non-volatile organic compounds to attain pipeline quality gas. The support will range from plant optimization to small upgrade projects. This role will work closely with Operations and Maintenance personnel at the plant in support of achieving plant runtime and production KPI's. They will also work closely with in-house Engineering teams and 3rd party Engineering Contractors to develop workpack deliverables for plant modifications. A key accountability will be maintaining and updating Process Safety Information for the plant. The successful candidate must be able to report to the plant in Throop, PA at least 3 days per week. You must live near the site or be willing to relocate to report into the site to be considered for the role. Key accountabilities Lead the creation of MOC's to document plant modifications and upgrades Work directly with 3rd-party engineering firms for engineering deliverables that are not internally generated Work with plant PSM coordinator to ensure PSM deliverables are kept up to date Review and approve major engineering submittals generated by 3rd parties Provide engineering input into operating, maintenance, commissioning, and start-up procedures and strategies Drive the right level of risk assessment for changes, from a Hazard Checklist to a HAZOP Ensure designs are aligned with safety and long-term serviceability as top priorities Act as a resource for new operators and technicians in the design and operation of the gas plant Provide start-up support for plant upgrades Essential education Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or equivalent in related field Essential experience More than 5 years experience with natural gas processing, refining, petrochemicals or related field. Proven track record in practical application of engineering standards and practices for operating facilities (e.g. ASME, API) Experience with designing & executing minor mechanical modifications and/or overseeing complex repair scopes Experience and technical understanding of engineering, maintenance, and operation of gas processing equipment Experience in root cause failure analysis Proficient in working with PFDs and P&IDs. Duties and Responsibilities: * Handling the Day-Ahead and Real-Time operations of the AES Clean Energy Portfolio. * Dispatching generation based upon economic conditions and operational constraints. * Developing load and wind generation forecasts. * Scheduling the Day-Ahead bidding of power into the respective RTO/ISO market. * Monitoring and analyzing market information to identify dispatching and trading opportunities to increase profitability. * Monitoring weather forecasts within various RTO/ISO markets. * Running dispatch and trade decisions with a continuous focus on balancing risk versus return to produce maximum profitability. * Coordinating unit availability, outage schedules, unit start-up and shutdown times, and communicating all vital information to commercial operations, plant personnel and the respective RTO/ISO. * Ensuring compliance with AES Risk Management Policy. * Verifying transactions and settlement information and resolve discrepancies as needed. Education/Experience Short-Term Trader/Dispatcher I: * Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Engineering, Finance, or a computer-related field. * 0-2 years of energy experience preferred. Desired areas of expertise: power generation coordination and marketing, real-time scheduling and dispatch, or power trading. * PJM Generation Certification preferred. If not certified, must have ability to become certified within six months. Knowledge/Skills * Knowledge of the wholesale power market. * Knowledge of multiple RTOs/ISOs (PJM, CAISO, ERCOT, ISONE, NYISO, MISO). * General knowledge of FERC and NERC rules and regulations preferred, but not required. * Excellent interpersonal skills. * Strong attention to detail. * Ability to work independently and tackle problems with limited supervision. The Opportunity: Within the O&M Technical Support team, the Wind Specialist will lead the condition monitoring program in EGPNA from setting predictive processes and tools, collecting information, reviewing results, making inspection/ repair recommendations and reviewing work performed by OEMs or ISPs. The Wind Specialist will report to the Technical Support Manager. * This is a Hybrid (Home /Office) opportunity based out of our Oklahoma City, OK Office. Office Presence is required as per corporate policy- currently 8 days per month. * Relocation assistance may be available. What You'll Do at Enel North America: Responsibilities, include, but not limited to: * Lead the condition monitoring program in EGPNA (vibration, oil and grease analysis, borescopes, blades) from collecting information, reviewing results, making inspection/ repair recommendations and reviewing work performed by OEMs or ISPs. Strong focus on drive train vibration measurement, analysis and proactive problem detection. * Perform SCADA data mining and diagnosis for performance control and proactive problem solving. * Lead wind turbine generation performance review and troubleshooting efforts to ensure EGPNA performance goals are met. * Perform maintenance quality audits to the different EGPNA wind assets. * Evaluate improvement options from OEMs or ISPs. * Monitor the implementation of new procedures, retrofits, execution of preventative maintenance, etc. * Support and guide Site Supervisor's with WTG or BOP equipment troubleshooting. Be proficient at Root Cause Analyses to accurately determine equipment failure and the reason for failures when they occur. * Review components inspection reports and recommendations from third parties and ensure actions are taken based on that information. * Support O&M actively during construction phase, hand-over to O&M and the wind farm warranty period. * Lead/ perform End of Warranty inspections. Build EoW reports to submit to OEM prior to the end of the warranty periods. * Analysis and monitoring of alarms, faults and incidences across the EGPNA wind fleet. * Provide technical leadership to the O&M organization. * Maintain required training certifications and qualifications. * Write Technical Specifications on necessary parts and/ or services. * O&M technical best practices identification and global implementation across EGPNA fleet. Who You Are: * Strong knowledge on vibration measurement and analysis on drive trains. * Experience with SCADA data analysis. * Good written and verbal communications, interpersonal, and organizational skills required. * Strong computer skills with experience on the MS suite including Word, Excel and MS Project. * Ability to work independently. * Strong initiative and drive for high achievement and continuous improvement. * Able to interpret and write technical documentation. * 40 % travel required (domestic and international). * Mental Functions: Ability to solve complex problems, Ability to make decisions based on limited information, Time management, communicating and interpersonal skills. * Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of wind turbines technology, as well as in data and failure analysis. * Physical Activities: Talking, hearing, near acuity, handling and fingering.
