John, was appointed executive vice president and chief operating officer – North America, effective Jan. 1, 2014, having been region vice president – Permian Region, from 2010 through 2013. He previously served as vice president – Business Development, since January 2004, and production manager for the Gulf Coast Region since April 2003. Prior to that, Christmann held various positions of increasing responsibility in the business development area since joining the company in 1997. Previously, he was employed by Vastar Resources/ARCO Oil and Gas Company in business development, crude oil marketing and engineering assignments. Christmann received his bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering from the Colorado School of Mines and MBA from Southern Methodist University.

Christian S. Kendall, President and Chief Operating Officer, joined Denbury in September of 2015. Kendall joined Denbury from Noble Energy, Inc., where he most recently served as a member of Noble’s executive management and as part of its operations leadership team as Senior Vice President, Global Operations Services. Prior to that, Kendall served as Vice President, Gulf of Mexico (2011-2014), and as Business Unit Manager and Vice President, Noble Energy Mediterranean Ltd (2007-2011), having been with Noble since 2001. Kendall began his career with Mobil Oil Corporation in 1989 and, in total, has over 27 years of oil and gas industry experience in domestic and international operations roles. Kendall holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Civil Specialty, from the Colorado School of Mines.

Mr. Thomas was named Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer, effective January 2014. Prior to that, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer from July 2013 through December 2013 and as President from September 2011 to July 2013. Mr. Thomas previously held other leadership positions at EOG, including Senior Executive Vice President, Exploitation and Senior Executive Vice President, Exploration. Mr. Thomas has been with EOG and its predecessor companies for over 35 years. Mr. Thomas has also previously served as the General Manager of EOG’s Fort Worth, Texas, Midland, Texas and Corpus Christi, Texas offices, where he was instrumental in EOG’s successful exploration, development and exploitation of various key resource plays. Mr. Thomas joined HNG Oil Company, a predecessor of EOG, in 1979.
