    Ancillary/Custodial Additional Information: Show/Hide Follow and perform routine cleaning schedules and maintenance procedures to ensure a high standard of safety, cleanliness and efficiency of building operations and grounds. Essential Functions * Follow a cleaning schedule to include cleaning and sanitizing of floors, carpets, instructional boards, wastebaskets, windows, window sills, furniture, equipment and restrooms. Move furniture or equipment within building, assist with lunchroom set up and facilities set up for special events as directed by campus administration, head custodian or assistant head custodian. * Perform minor maintenance to include painting, grease trap cleaning, mounting classroom instructional boards, and projection equipment. Monitor and maintain cleanliness of boiler room and report malfunctions to supervisor. Identify and correct unsafe conditions and report any major repair needs that are not correctable to supervisor. * Assist in maintaining an inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment. Request additional supplies as needed. * Regulate heat, ventilation and air conditioning systems to provide appropriate temperatures and ensure economical usage of fuel, water and electricity based on district guidelines. * Assist with the cleaning and refinishing of floors, moving of furniture, books, inventory and set up of facilities for school events. * Follow established procedures for opening, securing, monitoring and safeguarding facilities. * Follow established safety procedures and techniques to operate tools and equipment. Comply with local laws and procedures for storage and disposal of trash and chemicals. * Assemble, disassemble, repair and refurbish furniture as needed. * Attendance at the work site is required to meet essential functions of the job. Qualifications High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) preferred. Valid Texas or New Mexico driver's license to be insurable by the district's auto liability insurance carrier; subject to the district drug and alcohol testing policy and regulations.
