The Healthcare Professional Liability Advisor will work with the insurer(s) and retail agent(s) to negotiate and place Healthcare Professional Liability Insurance for clients. Advisor will be responsible for generating new agent partners, driving business, and successfully working with carrier relationships.
Principal Responsibilities:
Manage placement of Healthcare Professional Liability insurance by negotiating with insurers, and optimizing coverage and pricing in accordance with appropriate timelines for clients Request and analyze underwriting information Collate market quotes from insurers and summarize for the producer/direct client by preparing coverage comparisons, proposals, and making presentations as requested by the agent or client Will be responsible for handling their own renewals as well as developing new business opportunities Assist with maintaining comprehensive accurate files and records including file notes of meetings, telephone notes and all other correspondence in accordance with Highland's procedures Large focus to developing insurer and retail agent relationships Domestic travel to agents and clients as required Maintains a concern for accuracy, timeliness and completion when interacting with current and prospective clients, the organization and insurance company partners to minimize potential for errors and omissions claims while demonstrating strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.Maintains an understanding and knowledge of insurance industry and underwriting criteria for Insurance Company Partners represented by firm to effectively communicate to all involved.Performs other functions as assigned by leadership.Look for opportunities to improve the organization, business segment, and processes. Brings issues and discrepancies to appropriate leadership.
Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities Requirements:
Bachelor's degree Experience in the Healthcare space (long term care, hospitals, physicians, allied health, life sciences, etc.) P&C License mandatory or be willing and able to obtain within the first 90 days of employment.Moderate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.Ability to learn appropriate insurance company and firm software systems.Demonstrates the organization's core values, exuding behavior that is aligned with corporate culture.
