Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
Hospital training during two years of Radiologic Technologist program.

Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Pharmacist to join our central pharmacy team at a flagship, 815-bed acute care hospital that serves as the region's referral center for Level II Trauma and comprehensive specialty care, including pediatric services. This role is part of a 7-on/7-off rotation, covering the evening shift and including weekends. The Pharmacist will provide broad-spectrum pharmaceutical care to a high-acuity patient population, encompassing both pediatric and adult services. Key responsibilities include ensuring medication safety and compliance, overseeing pharmacy operations, and acting as a clinical resource to medical staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Accurately review and verify medication orders within the Cerner Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
Oversee and direct the work of Pharmacy Technician staff (part of a 150-person department with 34 day shift and 3 night shift pharmacists), ensuring efficient and safe product checking and distribution using systems like Talyst Machine and Pyxis.
Serve as a primary resource for nurses and providers, answering complex clinical questions and providing drug information.
Perform clinical documentation related to pharmacy interventions and patient care, utilizing systems like Vigilanz.
Function as a team player who is adaptable, able to multitask, and can handle a high-stress environment effectively.
Qualifications:
Must hold an active Registered Pharmacist (RPh) license in North Carolina.
Must have hospital experience and experience overseeing the work of pharmacy technicians.
Preferred Experience (Nice to Have):
Experience as a 3rd shift pharmacist.
Emergency Department experience.
Experience with Cerner and Vigilanz.
ACLS certification (only required if working in the ED).
Forest Green top and bottom scrubs, black bottom scrubs, or business casual.
Floating required per hospital policy.

Job Description
General and Outpatient Functions
Prepares compounds, and/or dispenses pharmaceutical prescriptions to patients in outpatient, inpatient, and emergency room settings. This process includes (but is not limited to) checking for correct drug dosages, for drug-drug and drug-food interactions, for correct dosage forms, and correct labeling and preparation of outpatient prescriptions, inpatient dosage forms, IV admixtures, and other pharmaceutical supplies.
Provides assessment and treatment to patients with minor health problems. Provides maintenance care to patients with chronic disease.
Manages therapy for selected patients in whom drugs are the primary method of treatment.
Reviews pharmaceutical orders to assure appropriateness of drug therapy.

The incumbent must be able to apply for a NC Clinical Pharmacist Practitioner license within 12 months of employment at CIHA. Responsibility for Accuracy
Errors in this position would be difficult to detect and can have adverse effects on the health of individuals, groups, and families. Errors can place the pharmacy at risk for substantial legal and financial liability. Undetected and unresolved errors can result in a range from minimal to life threatening patient consequence.

The position requires frequent and substantial contact with others, which include health care professionals, support and clerical staff, patients, community members, business representatives, and representatives of outside organizations of all types.
