About the Role:
As a Clinical Staff Pharmacist (Midnight Shift), you'll be a key member of a multidisciplinary team that ensures the safe and effective use of medications overnight. You'll support pharmacy operations across multiple departments, including the central pharmacy, admixture center, cardiovascular tower satellite, and more. Your work will include clinical consults, pharmacokinetic dosing, code coverage, and medication-related inquiries from healthcare staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide overnight clinical pharmacy services including pharmacokinetic consultations and dosing adjustments.
Respond to codes and urgent medical events, offering immediate pharmacy support.
Review and verify medication orders for appropriateness and safety.
Collaborate with providers, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams on patient care rounds.
Ensure accurate medication compounding and distribution via automated and manual systems.
Train and mentor pharmacy residents and students.
Participate in departmental and hospital committees, quality improvement, and educational initiatives.
Qualifications:
Required:
Graduate of an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy.
Licensed Pharmacist in the Commonwealth of Virginia, or eligibility to obtain licensure within 90 days of hire.
Strong communication, leadership, and critical thinking skills.
Preferred:
Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Residency.
Experience in hospital pharmacy or similar acute care setting.

As a Pharmacist you will:
Evaluate physician medication orders for drug appropriateness, correct dosage, potential drug interactions, and proper route of administration.
