We are seeking a Pharmacy Intern to support patient counseling and clinical call center operations under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. This role focuses on patient education, medication support, and call-based engagement to ensure patients understand their therapy, adhere to treatment plans, and have a positive experience with our pharmacy services. Key Responsibilities
Pharmacy Operations & Patient Support
Support daily pharmacy operations under the direct supervision of licensed pharmacists, including phone support, prescription processing, refill coordination, and workflow support.
Assist with patient interactions by phone, directing clinical questions to a licensed pharmacist as appropriate.
Accurately document activities and maintain pharmacy records in accordance with regulatory and organizational requirements.
Clinical Support & Medication Safety
Assist pharmacists in identifying potential medication-related issues such as refill delays, adherence challenges, or patient access concerns, and escalate appropriately.
Support medication therapy programs, inventory management, and follow-up activities as assigned.
Support patients and pharmacists by facilitating prescription transfers and coordinating with prescribers to obtain prescriptions or necessary clarifications.
Participate in quality assurance, safety checks, and error-prevention workflows within intern scope of practice.
Team Collaboration & Communication
Work closely with pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and support staff to ensure efficient workflow and continuity of patient care.
Communicate clearly and professionally with team members to support daily pharmacy operations.
Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and on-the-job learning opportunities to enhance clinical and operational knowledge.
Compliance & Professional Development

Currently enrolled in an accredited Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program.

What will you do?
Under the supervision by the pharmacist, assist in the practice of pharmacy, in accordance with state, federal, and company policy.
Assist in the retail pharmacy's readiness for accreditation with an agency(s) of purview (ie, NCODA, ACHC, URAC) by helping to prepare P&Ps and SOPs.
Educates staff, including pharmacists, regarding P&P and SOP changes and updates.
Performs prior authorization for all oral oncolytics and assists pharmacists and providers with appeal process when needed.

Alert the pharmacist on duty of any medication/product that is not scanning properly

**External Basic Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from accredited University outside the United States

Minimum
* Other Graduate of an accredited Pharmacy School
* High School Diploma or GED
* Excellent oral/written communication skills
* Minimum 18 years of age
* NABPLEx eligible within 90 days of hire

+ Assists and supports Pharmacy Department on inventory management activities, such as, ordering, unpacking, checking and storing shipment of pharmaceuticals. Maintains knowledge of Company asset protection techniques, and files claims for warehouse overages (merchandise received, but not billed), shortages (merchandise billed, but not received), order errors or damaged goods involving Rx drugs.
+ Assists with exterior and interior maintenance by ensuring the Pharmacy Department is stocked with adequate supplies, clean, neat and orderly in condition and appearance.
