The clinical pharmacist will be a unit-based pharmacist that will verify the orders and provide clinical services for the area(s) for which they are assigned. Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy required, Doctorate of Pharmacy Degree preferred.
Experience: Pharmacy practice residency or equivalent hospital experience (3 postgraduate years)
License: Current registered pharmacist license in the State of Florida
Certification: Pharmacy license; BLS within 30 days of hire (ACLS and/or PALS if code attendance required); Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy (BCPS) or other specialty corresponding with practice area.

* Ensures the accurate processing of insurance claims to resolve patient issues and prevent payment rejections. Follows up with insurance companies and medical providers and participates in 3rd-party audit.
* Follow-up with medical providers' offices to clarify prescribed medications, dosages, refills, interactions, and allergies to suggest alternative medications, and answer medical provider questions.
* Performs clinical and wellness services such as immunizations, diagnostic testing, disease state management and other healthcare services.
* Assists and supports the pharmacy manager in analyzing performance data including pharmacy financial, customer service, and implementation of procedures for pharmacy asset protection and inventory management.

Basic Qualifications

The salary range listed is an estimate. Pay at Cardinal Health is determined by multiple factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's geographical location, relevant education, experience and skills and an evaluation of internal pay equity.
Responsibilities
* Provides pharmaceutical care to patients as a staff pharmacist, including compounding of nuclear medications, testing for quality through chromatography, and directing distribution of medication using a team of drivers.
* Assesses and maintains pharmacy inventory and executes necessary orders, including reviews, to maintain optimal supply and ongoing availability of drugs, identifying and procuring alternative drugs to mitigate risks, when necessary.
* Manages and directs internal workflows of nuclear pharmacy, including optimization of staffing and scheduling to maintain best-in-class and streamlined pharmacy operations.
* Assists in execution of plans for lowering costs, increasing efficiency and driving profitable growth to support strategic business objectives in the nuclear pharmacy business.
* Maintains relationships with outside suppliers and vendors to understand availability of drug components and assist in demand planning.
* Participates in administrative tasks to facilitate nuclear pharmacy operations, including interactions with customers.
* May oversee running of the facility (known as Pharmacist in Charge) if needed
* Performs other job-related duties as required to ensure the goals and objectives of the department are met including delivering doses if necessary.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or PharmD required
* Valid Pharmacist's license in the state in which the pharmacy operates, or is in the process of obtaining a valid license
* Willingness to travel to other pharmacies as needed to provide coverage
* Working knowledge of biohazardous waste management procedures
* Ability to hear, write, and speak clearly in order to communicate with customers and health care professionals
* Strong customer service skills
* Manual dexterity required for occasional reach, lifting and holding of small objects
* Demonstrated manual dexterity in order to dispense doses
* Ability to lift containers weighing up to 75 pounds
* Must hold a valid driver's license in the state in which the pharmacy is located or obtain one upon hire
* Comfortable driving in all types of weather conditions (rain, sleet, snow, fog, wind and sun)
* Intermediate computer skills (ability to use computers and tablets) Flexibility to work various shifts or overtime as needed
* Ability to work weekends or be in a weekend rotation
* Ability to work on call or be in an on call rotation

* Prior Authorized User certification is preferred. Nuclear Pharmacy Training can be provided

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
Delivers quality pharmaceutical care and effective medication management outcomes through error-free care, timely verification, and delivery of medications.
Participates in hospital based Code Blue events, medication reconciliation and provides evidenced based drug information.

Performs quality review to achieve metrics & documents interventions, clinical activities, adverse drug reactions, & medication errors accurately to meet DNV standards, state & federal requirements.
Screens for adverse events such as allergies, correct dosage, incompatibilities, duplications, potential adverse drug reactions, contraindications, drug-drug interactions and drug-food interactions.
Provides patient and family education upon request and actively participates in department in-service programs as assigned.
