The shift is typically 12am-6am (overnight) including weekends and holidays. Responsibilities
Providing virtual inpatient pharmacy services during off-tour hours (midnight to 6 AM)
Reviewing and verifying pending clinic and outpatient prescription orders in the Urgent Care Department
Performing professional review and problem-solving to ensure safe and appropriate medication processing
Verifying remote prescription orders and entering data into VA systems
Supporting inpatient pharmacy services remotely
Using secure web-based systems provided by the contractor
Coordinating with VA staff and maintaining credentialing status
Providing backup pharmacist candidates for credentialing
Supplying necessary personnel, equipment, and supervision to fulfill contract needs
Requirements
US Citizen
Must be a graduate of an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accredited college or School of Pharmacy with a baccalaureate degree in Pharmacy (BS Pharmacy) and/or a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree
Full, current, and unrestricted license in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia when services are performed onsite on VA property
Must be licensed for controlled substances, with qualifications to practice in any states

Position Summary:
The QA Pharmacist will perform routine auditing and monitoring processes to ensure quality, accuracy, and regulatory compliance of coverage requests and appeals. Position Responsibilities:
Complete monthly utilization management and appeals performance and process audits in alignment with applicable regulations, accreditation standards, and best practices.
Create and maintain progress reports and audit results in accordance with regulatory/accreditation requirements and internal processes.
Present audit results to leadership in a timely manner to address issues and ensure adherence to departmental procedures and regulatory/accreditation requirements (CMS, URAC, NCQA).
Continuously review and remain informed of all regulatory/accreditation requirements and updates impacting the coverage request and appeals processes.
Respond to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders regarding quality assurance processes, audit results, and compliance policies and procedures.
Work independently and with team members as warranted by audit assignment.
Assist in designing and implementing audit tools and programs, creating QA scorecards and guides in collaboration with all department stakeholders.
Provide ongoing performance feedback, to team leads to ensure consistent performance.
Assist management in identifying, evaluating, and mitigating operational, and compliance risks.
Work in collaboration with operational leaders to identify training opportunities and recommend improvements to Work Instructions, Job Aids, and Policy and Procedures to improve performance.
Minimum Qualifications:
Active, unrestricted, pharmacist license required
2+ years of utilization management experience required
Extensive knowledge of how to operationalize regulatory requirements
Strong oral and written communication skills required
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
Possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, quantitative, and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, stay productive in a remote, high-volume, metric driven work environment

Job Summary:
SmithRx is looking for a motivated Clinical Review Quality Assurance Pharmacist to develop and maintain a quality audit program for the Clinical Review Team. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required. Licensed to practice pharmacy in the state of New York required.
Five (5) years of pharmacy experience required. Specialty pharmacy experience preferred.
Clinical knowledge of health or social work needs for the population served.

Successful corporate sales/service experience required, preferably in a manufacturer sales or specialty pharmacy industry.

The team comprises of clinical pharmacists, certified pharmacy technicians, and customer service representatives that complete various functions to successfully meet the operational requirements of each clinical service. The work hours required will require flexibility to work rotating shifts between the hours of 8:00am and 8:00pm CST, Monday through Friday.
The Clinical Pharmacist will report into the Operations Team Supervisor and Manager. This role is primarily responsible for performing telephonic consultations with members to complete comprehensive medication reviews and improve disease state management. In addition, the clinical pharmacist will document the care delivered and communicates essential information to the member's primary care providers. In addition, this role may require the pharmacist to interact with members on site as needed and complete the comprehensive medication review in person.
Responsibilities
• Engage members telephonically and schedule pharmacist consultation appointments with members that participate in any of the clinical programs operationally supported by the Clinical Engagement Services Center.
• Utilize prescription claims data to generate clinical recommendations according to Medication Therapy Management and Retrospective Drug Utilization Review program protocols providing clinical recommendations pertaining to, but not limited to, gaps in care, high risk medications, compliance and adherence, drug interactions, therapeutic substitution, and generic substitution
• Assess medication regimen for unnecessary medications, ineffective medications, inappropriate doses, and adverse drug reactions.

Required Qualifications

Clinical Pharmacist Job Responsibilities:
Interprets, prepares, and verifies medication orders as appropriate.
Provides clinical consultation and cost-effective alternatives.
Issues controlled substances in compliance according to the DEA and VA Board of Pharmacy requirements.
Participates in the medication formulary review and approval process.
Monitors drug therapies for interactions, allergies, and appropriateness.

What you will do
Properly use dispensing and barcoding technology to ensure accurate medication selection, stocking, and order fulfillment for all patient orders. Ensure accuracy of prescription and patient data entered in various systems. Review all relevant clinical information and clarifies with pharmacist/prescriber as appropriate. Works with payers to resolve insurance-related issues, assists with financial assistance programs as needed.
Deliver excellent customer service to health care providers and patients, by greeting them in person and by phone, answering questions and requests with pharmacist supervision, and responding to messages in the Epic In Basket and Epic Secure Chat.
Provide support to pharmacists by answering telephone calls and responding to messages. Will include research of basic clinical questions and drug information and drug compatibility questions.
Will undertake clinical functions under pharmacist supervision up to level of education including but not limited to the offering and provision of counseling to patients on medications and administration of vaccinations.
Manipulate and dispense hazardous and non-hazardous medications per department procedure.
Complies with HIPAA/HITECH regulations.
Assist in the planning, implementation, and process management of technological initiatives and pharmacy workflow improvements.
Manage and maintain medication outdates for assigned areas as required. Receive and stock the daily medication order from drug wholesaler. Operate the point-of-sale system to ring out customer transactions, including making change when required.
