The ideal candidate: Will be equipped to assist the corporate pharmacy leadership team in the project management of opening a new pharmacy, which will include things such as a Board of Pharmacy inspection of the site, setting up the pharmacy software, ordering and stocking the initial inventory, stocking supplies, and setting up pharmacy shelving. Will be adept at building the relationships necessary to grow a new pharmacy business. Given that this will be a pharmacy within a clinic, this involves building relationships with both patients and clinic personnel, including medical providers and nursing staff. Will be a self-starter who requires minimal supervision. Will have experience with, or the clinical confidence necessary to be trained in, Medication Therapy Management (MTM) services as a significant amount of time will be spent providing MTM services during the time waiting for the pharmacy to open. Must be detail oriented and be prepared to assist the corporate pharmacy leadership team with tracking the completion of various steps in the process of opening the pharmacy. Will have a strong foundation in pharmacy business metrics, especially as it relates to how these metrics should change over time in a new pharmacy that is growing. The incumbent must have obtained a Specialty Board (BPS) Certification (BCPS/BCACP), is a Certified Geriatric Pharmacist as certified by the Commission for Certification in Geriatric Pharmacy, or completed an ASHP accredited residency program and have two total years of clinical experience. (residency year counts as one year of experience) The incumbent must have an active unrestricted pharmacist license, and must be eligible for unrestricted pharmacist licensure in North Carolina. Pharmacist licensure in a state different than North Carolina is acceptable, however, if a Tribal Direct Employee, the incumbent must be eligible to obtain a North Carolina pharmacist license within the next 3 months following employment with CIHA. The incumbent must be able to apply for a NC Clinical Pharmacist Practitioner license within 12 months of employment at CIHA. Federal Employees, including commissioned officers, may hold and maintain an unrestricted pharmacist license from any State, and aren't required to maintain licensure with the NC Board of Pharmacy. Ability to communicate with fellow health professionals regarding patient care and pharmaceutical information and intervention. Requires knowledge of cultural and age specific competencies. Position requires maintenance of active and valid driver's license. Complexity of Duties The work often requires many different and unrelated processes. Decisions regarding what needs to be done includes the assessment of unusual circumstances, variations in approach and incomplete or conflicting data.
