We are seeking an experienced Per Deim Pharmacist to join our team at Gems Drugs Pharmacy! As a Per Diem Pharmacist, you will be receiving incoming prescriptions, reviewing them for accuracy, and filling them with the correct medicine and dose. You will also be talking with customers to help them understand their medications and possible side effects, advising them on medication storage, and maintaining a safe, clean work environment. The ideal Pharmacist candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, has excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and is familiar with pharmaceutical best practices. The Pharmacist is responsible for overseeing all medication storage and preparation in the health system and organization. The Pharmacist should ensure that the pharmacy provides optimal services and meets all legal, accreditation, FQHC and certification requirements. Job Description The Nuclear Pharmacist is responsible for following good sterile compounding practices in preparation and dispensing of radiopharmaceuticals. Acts as the shift supervisor in line with pharmacy policy & procedures during their respective shift. This will be accomplished through collaboration with the Clinical Pharmacy Manager, Pharmacy Operations Manager, AVP Pharmacy, staff pharmacists, medical staff, and other healthcare professionals. Performs all functions relating to the dispensing of medications, including the provision of information about dosing, side effects, and compatibilities for all patients ranging from neonates to geriatric. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Pharm. D degree. Must be licensed in the State of Louisiana. Obtain at least 15 ACPE approved education hours per year. Three (3) years experience as Clinical Pharmacist preferred. Physical Demands: Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time. Lifting at least 20 pounds is required. Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise. Responsibilities: Inputs patient data and prescription information into pharmacy information management system Assists the Pharmacist in filling prescription orders, as permitted by the State Boards of Pharmacy Prepares medications for dispensing, packaging and shipment.
