Monitor industry, regulatory and compliance industry, regulatory and compliance developments (e.g., State Board of Pharmacy, DEA, FDA, etc.) for pending regulatory changes and work with the pharmacy leadership team to address them Communicate and educate staff on pharmacy-related issues such as regulatory changes/compliance, FDA drug recalls, etc. Carry out policies and procedures for the procurement, storage, security, and disposition of medications in the pharmacy. Maintain all required pharmacy and technician licenses and registrations as required by the state. Work with leadership to respond to the board regarding any warning notice or communication from the state board of pharmacy, DEA, or other regulatory agency. Experience maintaining regulatory compliance with state and federal regulatory agencies. Experience with pharmacy system conversions is preferred but not required. Excellent project management, communication, and people/organization skills. Responsibilities of the Pharmacist include the following: Ensure that pharmaceuticals are accurately dispensed in accordance with pharmacy protocols and physician orders. The Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) is responsible for overseeing all operations within the retail pharmacy, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, managing staff, and delivering exceptional patient care. The PIC ensures safe, effective, and efficient medication dispensing while upholding the highest standards of professional practice and customer service. Key Responsibilities: Regulatory & Compliance: Ensure pharmacy operates in compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Compliance with California's compounding pharmacy regulations under Title 16, Division 17 of the California Code of Regulations. Maintain and renew all required pharmacy licenses, permits, and certifications. Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory bodies (e.g., Board of Pharmacy).
