About this Job: The MedAC Pharmacy Technician performs any combination of duties to assist a pharmacist in a distribution setting. Responsibilities include Pulling/filling medications in prepared dosage forms including but not limited to oral solids oral liquids nebulizers and injectables. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Accepts and implements general instructions on routine work and detailed instructions on new assignments. Receives medication order from repackeger and wholesaler verify packing slip to what was received noting any discrepancies and stock into pick station or back-up inventory location. Restocks picking stations and back-up inventory locations and verifies inventory counts. Sorts medications by designated delivery area and ensures labeling accuracy. Verifies dispensing counts and completes documentation for accurate billing/invoicing in the computer. Works on assignments that are semi-routine with the ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice as required. Salary Range:$18.00 To $23.00 Hourly KEY FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES Essential Functions: Provide customer service to patients dropping off or picking up prescription orders Enters and processes prescription ordered into the computer and consults with pharmacist as needed Retrieve, count, and set-up orders to support the work on the pharmacist. The Bedside Delivery Pharmacy Technician is responsible for all pharmacy tasks relating to the bedside delivery program including: facilitating patient participation; acting as pharmacy liaison between patients and physicians social workers nurses and inpatient/outpatient pharmacy staff; preparing prescriptions; and coordinating payment and deliveries.
