As a Pharmacy Technician I - Medication Access Specialist, you will be responsible for the interpretation and data entry of basic prescriptions, handling medication access issues, and troubleshooting adjudication concerns. This role emphasizes problem-solving, communication, and member advocacy.
How you will make an impact:
* Member Support: Serve as the primary contact for members experiencing medication access issues, providing empathetic and knowledgeable assistance.
* Troubleshooting and Prior Authorization: Identify and resolve barriers to medication access, including insurance pre-authorizations and formulary restrictions. Process prior authorization requests from healthcare providers to ensure compliance with Medicare requirements, and inform relevant parties of determinations.
* Collaboration: Work closely with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and pharmacies to resolve complex medication access cases.
* Education and Communication: Inform members about pharmacy-based rules, alternative medications, and resources for assistance programs. Navigate members through the appeals process when necessary.
* Documentation and Reporting: Accurately document member interactions and generate reports relating to rebates, physician utilization, and other relevant metrics. Maintain records of prior authorizations and monthly reports.
* Continuous Improvement: Suggest process enhancements to improve the member experience by identifying patterns in medication access barriers.
Minimum Requirements:
* Requires H.S. diploma or equivalent and minimum of 1 year of pharmacy experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
* Current State Pharmacy Tech.
* Certification or National Certification based on applicable state(s) required.
Preferred Skills/Experience/Education:
* CPhT, certified pharmacy technician strongly preferred.
* Experience with Medicaid members strongly preferred.
* Retail pharmacy experience strongly preferred.
* Strong understanding of insurance billing processes and formulary management strongly preferred.

The Position:
The Therapy Care Specialist will work with SoleoRx TCMC model and utilize national and local resources to facilitate high quality care of a patient with specialty pharmacy needs. The Therapy Care Specialist will work under the supervision of a Pharmacist to oversee logistics of a patient's dispense and prescription maintenance, assessment data capture, and serves as the point person to coordinate patient care across all layers of the patient care continuum while on service with Soleo Health. Responsibilities include:
Act as single point of contact for specialty patients and as liaison with Soleo branch personnel to coordinate timely medication dispense and delivery
Works under supervision of specialty pharmacist and/or branch pharmacist to capture assessment data, ascertain patients supply needs, and schedule new and refill medication deliveries
Run daily and weekly pharmacy reports as needed
Answer phones and warm transfer call to appropriate location, monitor incoming faxes, and monitor TCMC refill queues
Send orders to physicians for signature
Work with intake/reimbursement staff to maintain active patient insurance coverage and actively pursue authorizations and re-authorizations with the auth/billing staff at the branch level
Documentation of all patient interaction and care coordination in the designated system of record for clear and consistent communication
Complete therapy specific training as required
Hours:
Monday-Friday 7:45am-4:15pm eastern time
Saturday rotation once a quarter
Hybrid in Norcross, must be able to come onsite
Requirements
Prior experience in home infusion, compounding and/or specialty pharmacy required
High School Diploma or equivalent
Registered Pharmacy Technician required
Prior customer service/patient services experience
Basic to intermediate efficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook

Area of Responsibilities
Performs effectively and efficiently as a staff pharmacy technician when needed. Maintains all required competencies (ie: preparation of sterile and hazardous IV admixtures, automated dispensing cabinet functions, obtaining and verifying the list of patient's medications taken at home, order filling, charge & credit reconciliation, etc.)
Assists Controlled Substance Diversion Prevention Coordinator in monitoring, tracking, identification, and resolution of all controlled substance movement in the facilities, including Anesthesia narcotic reconciliation.
Serves as Educator for new pharmacy technicians to ensure thorough and consistent training and on-boarding. Is actively involved in panel interviews of potential candidates and ensures all training materials used for on-boarding new employees are current and appropriate.
Actively involved in and leads pharmacy automation and distribution systems acquisition, implementation, and training. Actively leads automation scanning compliance for pharmacy technicians and pharmacists.
Serves as the Pharmacy leader and Educator for ensuring USP 797, USP 795, and USP 800 compliance.
Constantly monitors and works with the pharmacists and other pharmacy technicians to identify areas for process improvement and workforce efficiencies. Makes recommendations to the Pharmacy Manager, Pharmaceutical Care Coordinator, and or Director for changes.
Assists the Pharmacy Department Managers in technician scheduling. Assists in managing the schedule, call-outs, etc.
Works closely with the Inventory Specialists for inventory optimization, facilitates inventory rotation and automation optimization, and assists with floor stock monitoring and compliance.
Works closely with the Inventory Specialists and Pharmacy Department Coordinator to serve as an alternate in their absence.
Assists the pharmacist in review and preparation of clinical monitoring reports.
Assists in monitoring all processes for performance improvement and error reduction.
Assists in maintenance and development of departmental policies and procedures.
Assists in preparing for and maintaining JCAHO compliance.

The Position:
The pharmacy technician provides clinical support services and sterile compounding of infusion therapies under the direction of a pharmacist, and in compliance with state board of pharmacy's sterile compounding and pharmacy practice regulations. The pharmacy technician prepares and provides clinical support services necessary for the dispensing of injectable and oral medications used to support our core business offerings. Responsibilities include:
Sterile preparation of IV / infused medications under the direction of the pharmacist and in compliance with current regulations and standards.
Demonstrates understanding of USP 797 standards, USP 800 standards, and current State Board of Pharmacy (BOP) regulations.
Maintains call and shipment schedules to ensure continuity of care for all patients.
Collects, documents, disseminates and coordinates customer communications, laboratory data and various clinical information with pharmacy, nursing and reimbursement staff.
Performs efficient data entry of pertinent patient and prescription information into company's pharmacy software system, as allowed by BOP regulations.
Performs all cleaning and maintenance of the pharmacy clean room in accordance with company policy and state BOP regulations.
Participates in company's quality assurance and performance improvement program.
Remains current with the BOP continuing education requirements, and completes Soleo's annual re-credentialing process.
Performs receiving and storage of medications and supplies from vendors.
Performs the picking/packaging of supplies and medications for shipment to the customer home.
Participates in regularly scheduled inventory counts and complies with Soleo's formulary management program.
Obtains additional state technical licensure/registration as requested to support the geographic service area of the branch.
Schedule:
Must be able to work Full time, Monday-Friday between the hours of 9am-6pm, 40 hours per week
Must be able to participate in an on-call rotation
Must on the job experience IV compounding- examples: IVIG, antibiotics, TPN, etc. (minimum of 1 year)
Must be licensed as a Pharmacy Technician in the state of Georgia
PTCB or NHA Certification- preferred
Requirements
High school diploma (or equivalent) required
Registered/Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT), or as required by the BOP
Minimum experience working as a technician in the pharmacy IV room of a hospital.
Prior technician experience with a home infusion company preferred
Current registration and ACPE requirements are met
Excellent customer service skills
Excellent sterile compounding technique
