What you will be doing:
Our Specialty Care Technicians coordinate the care for patients that are starting and maintaining therapy on Specialty Pharmaceutical (SP) products. Agents perform benefits investigations with third party payers and coordinate authorization for payment with the prescribing physician. Agents direct the purchasing and filling of SP products with Albertsons Safeway pharmacies and coordinate the administration of the product, connecting the patient and the pharmacy staff.
This position will be based out of Boise, ID or Itasca, IL.
Main responsibilities
* Benefits investigation -- determining coverage, facilitating prior authorization and communicating coverage to the patient.
* Care Coordination -- facilitating the buy, bill and administration of SP products within the company pharmacies and company mail order.
* Therapy Support (Specialty)- Tracking patients on SP products conducting refill reminders, therapy questionnaires and coordinating just in time ordering and pick-up in the company pharmacies and the company mail order.
* Store Support - Coach pharmacy teams on workflow and policies related to SP products and support their efforts to serve their patients and grow their business
* Prescriber Coordination - partner with prescribers to ensure that mutual patients have convenient access to, and remain adherent to, prescriber therapy
We are looking for candidates who possess the following:
* High school diploma or GED.
* Certified Pharmacy Technician.
* Two years' experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
* Preferred experience with Albertsons or Safeway Pharmacies
* Experience in acquiring prior authorization from third party payers.
* Problem solving abilities and attention to details.
* Administration skills, such as planning and organizing, resource management and the ability to set priorities and coordinate work activities.
* Customer relations skills including meeting customer needs and establishing a service environment. This involves the ability to identify requirements of internal and external customers, focus on achieving optimal results, and develop solutions that positively affect customer satisfaction.
* Good computer skills including Microsoft Office
* Preferred experience with PDX, EPS and Enterprise

Omni cycle count occur once a month with the Vaccine Coordinator. Once the cycle count is completed, coordinate with the Vaccine Coordinator. They will place an order and it typically takes a week to arrive on site. Once the box arrives verify the temperature monitor is in "OK" status, verifies LOT #s against the packing slip and if correct, then receives in the IRIS system.

Provides support for pharmacy technician activities. Contributes to overarching pharmacy strategy for optimization of medication related health care outcomes, and quality cost-effective member care. **Shift: (11 AM-7:30 PM MST or 12:30-9 PM MST)**
Essential Job Duties
- Performs initial receipt and review of non-formulary or prior authorization requests against pharmacy plan approved criteria; requests additional information from providers as needed to properly evaluate requests.
- Accurately enters approvals or denials of requests.
- Facilitates prior authorization requests within established pharmacy policies and procedures.
- Participates in the development/administration of pharmacy programs designed to enhance the utilization of targeted drugs and identification of cost-saving pharmacy practices.
- Identifies and reports pharmacy departmental operational issues and resource needs to appropriate leadership.
- Assists Molina member services, pharmacies, and health plan providers in resolving member prescription claims, prior authorizations, and pharmacy service access issues.
- Articulates pharmacy management policies and procedures to pharmacy/health plan providers, Molina staff and others as needed.
Required Qualifications
- At least 2 years pharmacy technician experience, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) and/or state pharmacy technician license (state specific if state required). If licensed, license must be active and unrestricted in state of practice.
- Ability to abide by Molina policies.
- Ability to maintain attendance to support required quality and quantity of work.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
- Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective work relationships with coworkers, clients, members, providers and customers.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Microsoft Office suite (including Excel), and applicable software program(s) proficiency.
