Description of Responsibilities
The Pharmacy Clerk assists the Pharmacy Department and staff through a variety of duties including but not limited to clerical, customer service and inventory management.

1. Clerical and administrative tasks such as answering phones, customer service, data entry.

5. Maintains work areas and performs continual inventory to help maintain adequate stock.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Organizational skills sufficient to maintain consistently accurate records.

3. Computer skills that include proficiency with spreadsheets, word processing, and efficient use of the internet and e-mail.
4. Ability to use good judgment and work with minimal direction.
5. Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to express technical issues in “layman” terms.
Education and/or Experience:
Must have a High School diploma or Graduation Equivalent Diploma (G.E.D.) or Higher.
Minimum of 1 year retail pharmacy experience preferred
Home Infusion Experience preferred.
Pharmacy Tech license is a plus but not required.

Assists with exterior and interior maintenance by ensuring the Pharmacy Department is stocked with adequate supplies, clean, neat and orderly in condition and appearance.

Job Overview

What will you be doing in this role?
This position involves driving to some of our Cedars-Sinai affiliates primarily from our Beverly Hills location (driving to San Fernando Valley, Westside, SouthBay).
The Pharmacy Technician at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Network Foundation supports the physician and clinical staff offices in the delivery of health care by performing a variety of medically related tasks in the area of pharmaceutical supplies and services.
You will assist in overseeing appropriate use of Pyxis
Provides training to all nursing staff on the appropriate use of Pyxis
Ensures staff is properly signing out medications and all medications are accounted for.
Restocking appropriate medications into Pyxis as par levels decrease.
Performs inventory of medications in Pyxis on a weekly basis.
Checks for expired medications on a monthly basis
Sends expired medications back to manufacturer/vendor, if applicable.
Assures all refrigeration temperatures are in range
Generates various reports from Pyxis on a daily/weekly/monthly basis depending on the report
Facilitates Injectable Medication Authorization process
Educates and reinforces office staff regarding the completion of the injectable medication referral form.
Creates POs for all medications to be purchased in Peoplesoft
Procures medications from appropriate vendor based on established or projected inventory needs for all medical group office locations.
Verifies accuracy of medications received and conducts follow-up when problems are identified.
Performs weekly audits of vendor invoices to ensure company is billed at the contract price.
