Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Refill patient medication bins through robot cart fill and manual picks; update carts by including new orders, removing discontinued medications, and transferring medications. Update labeling of bins on admission, transfer, and discharge of patients

General:
Preparation of medications for patients
Perform insurance verification and prior medication authorizations, specifically for prostate cancer and bladder cancer medications, men's health therapy, and overactive bladder (i.e. Eligard, Orgovyx, Erleada, Nubequa, Lynparza, Rubraca, Gemtesa, Myrbetriq, Valstar/BCG, testopel amongst others)
Receiving and verifying the prescriptions
Pricing and filling of prescriptions
Obtaining physician's approval prior to dispensing of medications
Completing patient paperwork related to the filling of prescription
Assisting with insurance claims processing (usually a physician will handle this, but assistant's help will be needed)
Stocking and pricing of medications in inventory
Performing inventory audits and purchasing supplies and medication.
Counting prescription medication, typing and attaching medication labels.
Ensuring availability of drugs for patient care
Maintaining pharmacy's (and its patients' employees') safety by adhering to infection-control procedures, policies and regulations

The primary role consists of performing milk and formula duties; individuals who are certified as a Pharmacy Technician may also perform Pharmacy Technician duties as needed.
Assists medical team, with issues related to formula orders, substitutions, discharge, and special needs to ensure the patient's feeding is provided in a timely manner.
Maintains sterile technique during formula and breast milk preparation.
Reads, writes, and performs necessary mathematical skills to correctly prepare infant formula and breast milk orders.
Prepares and delivers all infant formula and breast milk as ordered.

Transcribes feeding order information to prepared feeding labels.
Follow processes, as established, for quality assurance monitors.
May cross train for coverage between Pharmacy and Nutrition Department; if certified as a Pharmacy Technician, may perform Pharmacy Tech duties as needed.
