Keep pharmacy manager updated as to any problem accounts or discrepancies • Make sure all past due accounts are taken care of in a timely manner. Under supervision of a Registered Pharmacist and according to policies, procedures and guidelines established within the organization, the department and the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, the Pharmacy Technician III assists pharmacistsin filling prescriptions and preparing IV admixtures by interpreting, transcribing, and preparing medication(s) for dispensing. The Pharmacy Technician III is a role that builds upon the skills and competencies of the Pharmacy Technician I and Pharmacy Technician II as part of a professional career pathway. Fills orders with appropriate medications for review and approval by a Registered Pharmacist. Performs a variety of related technical, clerical and supply duties. The duties may vary somewhat depending on location of work (i.e. outpatient retail pharmacy, inpatient pharmacy, infusion pharmacy, etc) or shift assignment. The technician will be responsible for competency in the requirement of Pharmacy Technician II as well as those outlined below in the Additional Job Description.
* High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
* Permanent Pharmacy Technician license in good standing with State of Michigan
* 5 or more years of relevant pharmacy experience in a hospital, retail pharmacy, or elsewhere, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Internal applicants must have no current disciplinary action plans and the most recent performance evaluation score above 2.0.
* Skills in mathematics and basic algebra.
* Ability to read, interpret and analyze data from various systems and equipment in order to set an appropriate plan of action in coordination with the pharmacists.
* Work which is constantly and exceptionally tiring mentally and/or visually. Conditions exist more than 90% of the work time.

Scope of Work
Pharmacy Technicians work under the direction of a pharmacist to provide technical assistance, processing and preparing medications and supplies. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with courses in mathematics and basic algebra required. Must have at least 2 years of pharmacy tech experience in a hospital setting, with a preference towards individuals with previous experience in a leadership type role. A medical terminology course is preferred.
Licensed as a Certified Pharmacy Technicianin the State of Michigan. Must have nationally recognized Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB, CPhT, or equivalent) within one year of hire into the Pharmacy Technician job. Pharmacy students currently enrolled in an accredited school of pharmacy with a valid pharmacy intern license are not required to have Pharmacy Technician Certification.
Must be qualified at the Pharmacy Technician II level. To be eligible for a Pharmacy Technician II job, must demonstrate 12 months of Level 1 competency (or equivalent) and is competent in 4 identified areas. A technician may advance to Level 2 once he/she has demonstrated 12 months of competency in 4 identified functional areas. An exception to the 12 month guideline can be made for a technician with several years of previous pharmacy technician experience who has clearly demonstrated competency at an accelerated rate (may be seen especially in initial transition and with new hires with substantial prior hospital pharmacy technician experience).
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a clean, well lighted & temperature controlled environment. May work in chemotherapy preparation satellite, working with hazardous carcinogens, however, normal safety precautions and protective equipment are provided to minimize risk. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

This is a full-time position with a consistent schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm.
