Under the direction of a staff pharmacist and/or pharmacy leadership team, follow established policies and procedures to perform a variety of highly advanced technical and clerical support tasks that are vital to the operation of the pharmacy department. Tasks include, but are not limited to, preparation and distribution of unit dose medications, compounded sterile and non-sterile products, outpatient prescriptions, stock orders, and the operation and maintenance of pharmacy and area-specific technologies. Tasks may also include responsibilities of technical training and participation in departmental projects. This requires successful experience and performance as a pharmacy technician III.
These tasks are designed to assist the pharmacist in the preparation and delivery of pharmaceutical supplies and medications in accordance with the laws and regulations of the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Pharmacy, Massachusetts Department of Public Health, and other regulatory agencies as applicable. Most tasks require the review and authorization of a licensed pharmacist.
Staffing assignments will include roles throughout central pharmacy and designated specialized pharmacy areas.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Leadership
+ Train new or existing staff members.
+ Provide direction and guidance to pharmacy staff in following policy and procedure while promoting professional behaviors and attitudes.
+ Provide feedback to pharmacy leadership about efficiency of workflow process and general staff performance.
+ Lead departmental quality improvement or group research projects as assigned.
+ Oversee drug distribution activities and process, including leading, troubleshooting, maintaining, and triaging activities and issues as appropriate.
Staffing and Competency
+ Perform medication deliveries and distribute medications to patient care areas employing barcode scanning.
+ Perform all required pharmaceutical dosage calculations necessary to prepare extemporaneous dosage forms as applicable under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
+ Return unused medications employing barcode scanning and perform medication expiration date checking as assigned.
+ Fill medication requisitions and type labels for ambulatory and discharge prescriptions for all applicable patient care areas.
+ Manage inventory in all pharmacy areas and automated dispensing cabinets (ADC) and charge stock orders, ADC shrinkage, and patient and clinic requisitions.
+ Provide information and triage phone calls to the appropriate individual within the pharmacy department when answering the phone.
+ Carry out duties and responsibilities as assigned by staff pharmacists or pharmacy leadership.
+ Maintain clean and organized work areas.
+ May prepare compounded sterile products using principles of aseptic technique, distribute and transport controlled substances under the appropriate state of control, or maintain code cart inventory per policies and procedures as applicable.
Technology
+ Utilize area-specific technology, including, but not limited to, robotics, automation, software, equipment, and information systems.
+ Practice preventative maintenance of area-specific technology, including, but not limited to, robotics, automation, software, equipment, and information systems.
+ Troubleshoot aforementioned technology failures to minimize operational downtime and maximize uptime.
+ Assist in the implementation of new area-specific technology as mentioned above.
+ Follow processes for obtaining manufacturer service if needed for repairs.
Quality and Safety
+ Follow institutional and departmental policies and procedures.
+ Demonstrate accountability and ownership of job responsibilities.

Consults with and keeps Pharmacy Director informed regarding order status and/or alternative delivery products or systems.
Under direction of the Pharmacy Director, resolves invoicing discrepancies such as price or quantity received. Processes adjustments for damaged or incorrect shipments.
Consults with Pharmacy Director and accesses Group Purchasing Databases as required ensuring correct pricing. Identifies opportunities for cost savings and prepares documentation for supervisor/director.
Coordinates purchasing details with vendors, including pricing revisions, order cancellations, discontinued items, acceptable substitutes, back-orders, delivery, date revisions and invoice discrepancies.
Maintains purchasing records, reports, and statistics as required by Department policy and applicable laws.
Maintains 340B program inventory and regulatory compliance.
Conducts monthly 340B audits of the split-billing software and inpatient charges to ensure 340B compliance and informs the Pharmacy Director of any irregularities.

Submits invoices directly to finance for payment.

Under the direction of the Home Hospital Pharmacy Director, the Pharmacy Technician Specialist for Home Hospital will follow established policies and procedures to perform a variety of highly advanced strategic, quality focused, and distribution support tasks that are integral to the success of the Home Hospital pharmacy operation. Tasks include responsibilities of technical training, compliance, and participation in departmental projects and initiatives. These tasks are designed to support the department in the preparation and delivery of pharmaceutical supplies and medications in accordance with the laws and regulations of the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Pharmacy, Massachusetts Department of Public Health, and other regulatory agencies as applicable.

Job Summary:
The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for helping the Pharmacists perform daily tasks to serve customers. Their duties include filling and labeling prescriptions, interacting with customers to answer questions or give them their prescriptions and contacting customers to notify them when their prescription is ready.
Job Responsibilities:
· Supports pharmacy services by stocking, preparing, and distributing medications
· Helps health care providers and patients by greeting them professionally, answering questions and requests, and referring inquiries to the pharmacist
· Maintains pharmacy inventory, anticipating needed medications and supplies, placing and expediting orders, verifying receipt, and removing outdated drugs. Ensures separation of 340B drug inventories as applicable

The Position:
The Therapy Care Specialist will work with SoleoRx TCMC model and utilize national and local resources to facilitate high quality care of a patient with specialty pharmacy needs. The Therapy Care Specialist will work under the supervision of a Pharmacist to oversee logistics of a patient's dispense and prescription maintenance, assessment data capture, and serves as the point person to coordinate patient care across all layers of the patient care continuum while on service with Soleo Health. Act as single point of contact for specialty patients and as liaison with Soleo branch personnel to coordinate timely medication dispense and delivery
Works under supervision of specialty pharmacist and/or branch pharmacist to capture assessment data, ascertain patients supply needs, and schedule new and refill medication deliveries
Run daily and weekly pharmacy reports as needed
Answer phones and warm transfer call to appropriate location, monitor incoming faxes, and monitor TCMC refill queues
Send orders to physicians for signature
Work with intake/reimbursement staff to maintain active patient insurance coverage and actively pursue authorizations and re-authorizations with the auth/billing staff at the branch level
Documentation of all patient interaction and care coordination in the designated system of record for clear and consistent communication
Complete therapy specific training as required

Monday-Friday 8:30a-5p
Saturday rotation once a quarter
Requirements:
Prior experience in home infusion, compounding and/or specialty pharmacy required
