As a new Pharmacy Technician, you are required to complete an extensive CVS Pharmacy Technician Training Program as well as satisfy all registration, licensing and certification requirements according to your State's Board of Pharmacy guidelines. Your Pharmacy Technician duties will be restricted by your manager at first until you complete all necessary requirements. Once you satisfy all requirements and expand your Pharmacy Technician duties, you have the opportunity to continue to build your clinical, technical and insurance knowledge and expertise by leveraging available tools and training to build your pharmacy career.

This opportunity is for an advanced dispensary associated with a large oncology practice. They serve the oncology practice population specifically. There are multiple teams and support structure in place for this well-established pharmacy.

The Pharmacist-In-Charge is a crucial leadership role responsible for managing the overall operations of the team within the pharmacy. This role will also be responsible for coordinating clinical activities, optimizing pharmacy workflows, and maintaining high standards of medication management and patient care. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Checks all prescriptions for completeness and calculates correct dosages, converting between metric and apothecary equivalents.
• Organizes and directs the technician's workflow; verifying their preparation and labeling of pharmaceuticals; verifying order entries, charges, and inspections.
• Properly disposes of all hazardous materials or medications when necessary.
• Participates in pharmacy teaching and in-service programs as necessary. Receives new drug education from pharmaceutical representatives; remains abreast of new information. Monitors and informs staff of new regulations.
• Assists with policy, guideline, and counseling guide development and handling of hazardous drugs processes.
• Develops, maintains, and upholds operating standards with respect to the organization, regulatory bodies, as well as accrediting bodies.

Schedule
Full-Time 40 hours per week. Typical schedule is Monday through Friday from 6:00a to 2:00p. Must be available to work holidays, weekends, and opening shifts. Rotating call weekends (approximately every 5-6 weeks). Candidate must be flexible to work different days, hours and schedules based on business needs.
Responsibilities in this role
Under the immediate direction of a qualified licensed Staff Pharmacist, you will be trained to draw, dispense, and package radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with the regulations of the State Board of Pharmacy. Many of your duties will include:
Prepare prescriptions by typing labels and obtain Staff Pharmacist approval
Draw doses into either a syringe or vial
Perform quality assurance tests on instruments and radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with Federal, State, Company and manufacturer's guidelines
Receive, document, and store incoming and outgoing pharmaceuticals according to the Department of Transportation and Company guidelines
Maintain computer inventory and records to ensure proper utilization of materials and accounting for Rx drugs
Assist and/or perform in the labeling of blood cell products
Perform general laboratory and facility clean up
May perform clerical and administrative services including maintenance of daily records, preparation of receipts, report preparation, and maintenance of billing records
Make deliveries to accounts with company vehicles as needed
Speak with customers and address questions and/or concerns via telephone
Works under close supervision. All work is reviewed for accuracy. Any deviations from the norm are approved by the supervisor before proceeding
Qualifications
High school diploma, GED or equivalent, or equivalent work experience, preferred
State Pharmacy Technician license or national pharmacy technician registration/license required
Previous experience working as a Pharmacy Technician is highly preferred.
Past IV experience is a plus
Valid driver's license and good driving record required.

Here are a few of the daily responsibilities:
Assist residents as assigned with a high quality of medication administration assistance per individual Care Plan/ISP as directed by physician orders.
Assist all residents/clients with a high quality of personal care, including but not limited to; bathing, dressing, grooming, shaving, incontinent care, foot care, vital signs, height and weight checks per policy (where applicable).
Complete and document shift assignments as assigned, if unable to complete, report to nursing supervisor.
Make beds as needed in A.M., turn down as needed in P.M., strip beds once each week or PRN (where applicable).
Communicate to residents, families, Department Heads and the Director of Resident Services when needed.
Respond to call lights and emergencies in a timely manner.
Here are a few of the qualifications we need you to have:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
One (1) year experience working as a CNA/PCA/HHA/RA preferred
Completion of the 6 Hour Med Tech Training and annual 2 hour update.

Responsible for entering and processing prescriptions into the pharmacy operating system with both speed and accuracy. Communicates with customers on the telephone and responds quickly and courteously to their needs.

Essential Job Functions (include the following):
Enter new and refill prescriptions into operating system in accurate and timely manner to eliminate errors at dispensing
Triage incoming fax prescriptions to ensure timely dispensing
Ensure proper notes in computer and cycle fill coding
Calculate and/or verify the correct dosage based on the prescription
Demonstrate caring, understanding and courtesy when responding to calls from customers. Route calls as appropriate to ensure top level service
Ensure all prescriptions assigned for processing are completed in regular shift
Receive, evaluate, process and follow-up as needed with doctors' offices on all refills assigned
Develop proficiency in the utilization of all pharmacy systems (ie document imaging, legacy pharmacy computer operating system)
On an as needed, may assist with filing of completed orders, packaging of medications, inventory, profiling of orders for medical records, and filling processed prescriptions to dispense to the patient
Develop and learn cycle in order to meet delivery deadlines. Maintain data entry records for cycle medication, fill requests and process cycle medication orders needing renewal in addition to new cycle orders as applicable
Other essential functions and duties may be assigned as needed
Education and/or Certifications
High School Diploma or GED (per state requirements)
Pharmacy Technician license/certification/registration (per state requirements); National Certification preferred (PTCB)
Skills and Qualifications:
2+ years of related experience (advanced degree may substitute for experience)
Advanced computer skills; pharmacy operations system experience preferred
Ability to work independently and deliver to deadlines
Ability to solve problems with minimal direction
Great attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to excel in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment working on multiple tasks simultaneously, while adhering to strict deadlines
Quality minded; motivated to seek out errors and inquire when something appears inaccurate
Work Environment:
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holiday and overtime.

Here are a few of the daily responsibilities:
* Assist residents as assigned with a high quality of medication administration assistance per individual Care Plan/ISP as directed by physician orders.
* Assist all residents/clients with a high quality of personal care, including but not limited to; bathing, dressing, grooming, shaving, incontinent care, foot care, vital signs, height and weight checks per policy (where applicable).
* Complete and document shift assignments as assigned, if unable to complete, report to nursing supervisor.
* Make beds as needed in A.M., turn down as needed in P.M., strip beds once each week or PRN (where applicable).
* Communicate to residents, families, Department Heads and the Director of Resident Services when needed.
* Respond to call lights and emergencies in a timely manner.
Here are a few of the qualifications we need you to have:
* High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
* One (1) year experience working as a CNA/PCA/HHA/RA preferred
* Completion of the 6 Hour Med Tech Training and annual 2 hour update.
* One (1) year experience working in Assisted Living or Health Care preferred

The Care Giver/Med Tech role includes providing hands on care, physical and emotional support to each resident while maintaining a safe and comfortable home like environment.
Responsibilities:
Care Giver:
Responsible for a designated group of residents during the shift; knows where their residents are and physically checks on them throughout the shift.
Observes, reports and documents symptoms and conditions of residents for changes in condition such as skin, behavior, alertness, weight, dietary and participation in activities.
Responds to security system and resident call bells promptly.
Notifies supervisor and/or Health Care Coordinator if a resident has increased care needs.
Assists with continence management and disposes of all continence products properly to ensure sanitation of resident suite and community restrooms.

Maintains cleanliness of resident's room and work areas.

Medication Tech duties:
Reviews service plan to learn pertinent information about residents.
Assists/observes medications and treatments for each resident using the medication observation record and the Six Rights of Medication Pass.
Documents and initials form as medications are given including appropriate documentation for refusal or missed doses.
Maintains confidentiality of all resident information including resident medication.
Reports all resident concerns made while assisting resident with the medication to the Nurse and/or Health Care Coordinator (HCC).
Restocks medication cart after all medication passes.
Assists in checking medication regardless of packaging system.
Counts all narcotics with another Medication Care Manager or Nurse each shift.
Maintains and cleans the Medication Room, med charts, treatment carts for neatness cleanliness, availability of medications and expired medications.
Follows re-fill process for medications.
Participates in the development of the Service Plan and monthly updates.
Takes and records temperature, blood pressure, weight, pulse and respiration rates.
Reports occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, sharp sticks and hazardous chemicals immediately.
Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualifications:
Certified Nurse's Aid certification preferred.
High School diploma/GED
Must be 18 years of age.
CPR Certification preferred
First Aid Certification preferred
Previous experience working with seniors preferred.
