Job Description:
* Executes core pharmacy technician duties with proficiency in standard workflows, hospital systems, and pharmacy operational programs under pharmacist supervision.
* Demonstrates proficiency in core pharmacy services, including medication dispensing, preparation, inventory management, sterile compounding, controlled substance handling, and regulatory compliance.
* Provides coverage across core pharmacy practice areas, including central/distributive operations, decentralized services, automated dispensing cabinet (ADC) management, and cleanroom compounding as assigned.
* Accurately prepares and safely dispenses patient-specific medication doses, ensuring correct drug, dose, dosage form, expiration dating, and barcode scanning.
* Compounds sterile medications such as IV solutions and piggyback containers under aseptic conditions, following USP & guidelines and institutional protocols, with appropriate oversight.

Job Summary and Qualifications
The Pharmacy Technician II is responsible for accurately performing all advanced and basic pharmacy technician functions in a timely manner. In addition, they may be responsible for performing duties with Automated Dispensing Cabinets (ADCs) and other specialized duties as assigned by the pharmacy management team.
In this role you will:
* Demonstrate relevant theoretical knowledge.
* Apply known solutions to a variety of predictable problems.
* Apply and performs processes that require a range of well-developed skills where some discretion and judgment is required.
* Interpret available information using discretion and judgment.
* Take responsibility for own outputs in work and learning.
* Maintain medication inventory, storage, and security as per regulatory requirements throughout the organization.
* Accurately prepares and maintains required documentation logs, work records, and safety checks.
* Interact in person and by phone with hospital personnel.
* Perform basic billing functions.
* Accurately performs required calculations.
* Accurately and safely compounds and labels medications and parenteral admixtures.
* Accurately packages and prepares medications for dispensing as assigned.
* Accurately transports medications and other pharmacy supplies in a timely manner to appropriate areas.
Job Requirements:
* High School diploma or equivalent required
* 1 year of hospital pharmacy experience is required
* IV Certification required
* National Certification (CPhT) preferred
* Active Registered Pharmacy Technician, as per state requirements, in good standing with appropriate State Board of Pharmacy required
* Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Tech (CPhT), or Pharmacy Technician Certification Board must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date

Responsible for performing technical and clerical duties within the inpatient pharmacy distribution system. The IV Pharmacy Technician is responsible for sterile compounding using the principles of aseptic technique. Compounded sterile preparations (CSPs) are prepared in compliance with USP 797 utilizing laminar airflow workbenches and/or biological safety cabinets. Tasks include medication and supply inventory management, medication preparation, medication distribution to patient care units and automated dispensing cabinets, regulatory compliance and other tasks necessary to support safe medication distribution. Competencies required for Pharmacy Technician Level 1 must be successfully completed within 6 months of start date and at annual evaluations thereafter.
Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: 1. EDUCATION: a. High School diploma or equivalent required. 2. EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING: a. At least one of the following qualifications is preferred: i. One year of hospital or community pharmacy experience ii. Perform packaging, labeling, record keeping, and other tasks associated with prescription fulfillment and dispensing.
Contact physicians to obtain missing or necessary prescription information.
Collect and verify pertinent patient information to ensure accurate processing.
Assist the Pharmacist in maintaining procedures and documentation to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
Adhere strictly to HIPAA regulations to safeguard patient confidentiality.
Respond to customer inquiries via phone, providing support with order placement, system navigation, and product location.
Accurately count, label, and prepare prescriptions according to established protocols.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in accordance with regulatory standards.
Deliver high-quality customer service, fostering positive relationships with patients at the pharmacy counter.
Support inventory management by ensuring timely processing and stock control to improve operational efficiency.
Use pharmacy management software for accurate and efficient prescription processing.
Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications to ensure patient safety and satisfaction.
Perform other duties as assigned by pharmacy management.

We seek a Part Time Pharmacy Technician to support all functions of the Genoa mental health and specialty pharmacy primarily through dispensing medical prescriptions and performing necessary clerical duties while under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist.
Pharmacy Hours: Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5pm (Lunch 1pm - 1:30pm)
Schedule: 24 hours per week. Shifts are flexible based on business needs

Primary Responsibilities:
* Provides exceptional customer service to all consumers and members of the clinic staff
* Fills prescription orders and makes them available for verification under direct supervision of the registered pharmacist
* Orders, receives and stores incoming pharmacy supplies
* Receives and processes wholesaler medication orders
* Verifies medication stock and enters data in computer to maintain inventory records
* Works with the Pharmacist to assist in the pharmacy functions and keeping the pharmacy in compliance with all federal and state requirements
* Performs various clerical duties relating to the department
* Communicates with strong professional verbal and written communication skills
* Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
* Active and unrestricted Pharmacy Technician license in the state of Florida
* Access to reliable transportation & valid US driver's license

* Bilingual in English and Spanish
