Compounding technician shall compound medication, fill and label prescriptions and pre-package bulk compounded medications in anticipation of prescription orders. Compounding technician shall also monitor inventory levels for re-order of low inventory or expiring or expired chemicals or compounds, receive new inventory, maintain MSDS and Certificates of Analysis and perform daily, weekly and monthly cleaning using appropriate disinfectants and techniques. When working with hazardous or non-hazardous chemicals, the Compounding technician shall be familiar with the location of MSDS and review, as needed. Environmental monitoring and validation testing shall be performed according to policies and procedures. Support daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning of the environment with appropriate disinfectants and techniques. Initial and ongoing competency evaluation must be successfully completed as required in the policies and procedures Technicians work under the supervision of a pharmacist.
