Your Job Responsibilities
- Performs medication reconciliation by interviewing patients/caregivers
- Works with pharmacists to obtain complete medication lists
- Performs duties listed below as needed
• Answers the telephone and front window.
• Compounds products in IV Lab using sterile, aseptic technique
• Gathers items needed for miscellaneous requisitions, orders, crash carts, etc. to be checked by pharmacist prior to dispensing.
• Maintains clean and orderly work area; restocks returned medications, restocks work area to appropriate levels.
• Assists in maintaining inventory levels of pharmaceuticals and supplies by notifying purchasing when items become low or increased usage of particular items in observed: utilized the “short list”.
• Maintains drug storage systems through restock and trouble-shooting functions
• Maintains Unit Inspections outside the department
• Makes scheduled rounds to all nursing units for the delivery of medications and the pick-up of discontinued medications and orders as needed.
• Makes non-scheduled rounds to any nursing unit as required.
• Perform charges and credits for floor stock sheets, narcotic sheets, miscellaneous charge slips, and returned medications into computer system.
• Processes medications in assigned area (OR, IV lab, first fill) in preparation of final dispensing by the pharmacist.
• Trains new employees as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned

Operations
Under the supervision of the pharmacist, assist in the practice of pharmacy, in accordance with state, federal, and company policy. Reviews and complies with the Topline Pharmacy Code of Conduct.
Performs duties as assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist and Store Manager including utilizing pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information, ensuring information is entered correctly, filling prescriptions by retrieving, counting and pouring pharmaceutical drugs, verifying medicine is correct, and checking for possible interactions. Assists pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining work flow.
Reports, immediately, prescription errors to pharmacist on duty and adheres to Company policies and procedures in relation to pharmacy errors and the Quality Improvement Program.
Responsible and accountable for registering all related sales on assigned cash register, collects and handles cash as required.
Handles telephone calls that do not require personal attention of the pharmacist, including those to physicians.
Processes (corrects and resubmits) manual claims for third party program prescription services in a timely and efficient manner, and performs other clerical duties, as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager.
Assists and supports Pharmacy Department on inventory management activities, such as, ordering, unpacking, checking and storing shipment of pharmaceuticals.
Assists with exterior and interior maintenance of the pharmacy by ensuring that the Department is stocked with adequate supplies, clean, neat and orderly in condition and appearance.
Maintains respectful relationships with coworkers.
Delivers medications to patients/customers.
Completes special assignments and other tasks as assigned.
Pharmacy Technician certification will be part of initial training

Filling out packing and order forms with the relevant shipping information

Remove and wash used equipment
Review and remove expired medications under the supervision of a Pharmacist
Wipe down and organize ingredient containers
Ensure organization and cleanliness around the garbing cart and sinks
Document inventory intake and ensure stock availability of ingredients and equipment
Perform additional cleaning and stocking tasks, including but not limited to stocking inventory, cleaning floors, cleaning inside hoods as needed per USP 795 and USP 800 guidelines, and maintaining and documenting the daily and monthly cleaning tasks
Help maintain and move lab equipment as needed
Sort and file records
Comply with Pharmacy procedures, policies, and health and safety regulations
