The Pharmacy Technician will work directly with Premier Community HealthCare Group's patients on providing best-in-class customer service at our pharmacy and perform a variety of activities in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations. Under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, will support the patient care efforts of the pharmacy team. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Provide a best-in-class patient experience for those visiting Premier's pharmacies. Ensure patients are taken care of in a timely manner and maintain a high level of customer service and professionalism. Answer phones in a prompt, courteous and helpful manner. Answering questions within their scope and referring inquiries to the pharmacist. Assists the pharmacist in the preparation, filling, and delivery of medications and other tasks associated with dispensing. Ensures the patient receives correct medication by using appropriate dispensing procedures. Maintains adequate stock of medication and supplies, uses safety precautions when stocking; ensures proper filling techniques are used when preparing medications. Disseminates any information (drug shortages, availability, pricing, etc.) in a timely manner to the pharmacist and peers. Re-establishes priorities based on workload and pharmacist's directions. Ensures insurance adjudication and pre-authorizations are processed in a timely manner. Ensure confidentiality and HIPAA compliance at all times. Keep other care team members informed when situations occur that disrupts timely patient flow through site. Demonstrate an understanding of 340B regulations, inventory management and managing a point-of-sale (POS) system. Adhere to patient care needs and the core values of Premier Community HealthCare to a provide best-in-class patient experience. Work towards attaining department goals and drive Quality Improvement / Quality Assurance (QI/QA). Other duties as assigned.
