The Pharmacy Refill Technician will provide integrated support to pharmacy staff and Shields Health Solutions Liaisons by providing a 'hands-on" approach to ensuring accurate and timely filling and delivery of specialty medications. This role will work closely with health system pharmacy staff and Shields liaisons by emphasizing accurate workflows and leveraging technology to support optimal patient care and efficient operations. Individual will be responsible for placing outbound calls to patients and assisting them through the entire refill process as well as receiving inbound pharmacy phone calls. This full‑time role consists of five 8‑hour shifts per week, including weekdays and every other weekend, with a rotating two‑week schedule. This position offers the opportunity to work in a fast‑paced environment that plays a vital role in patient care. Primary Responsibilities * Accurately and efficiently fill daily medication orders under pharmacist supervision. * Assist with processing returned medications, ensuring proper recycling or disposal according to procedure. * Prepack commonly used medications, label them, and store appropriately during slower workflow periods. * Manually package materials and products as needed. * Pull and pick medications from shelves and storage areas. * Apply labels to blister cards and scan products to ensure accuracy. * Notify the on‑duty pharmacist of any medication or product that does not scan correctly. * Maintain clean, organized workstation areas and restock supplies as needed. * Follow all applicable regulations, including HIPAA. * Work overtime, holidays, and weekends when required. * Adhere to departmental safety, attendance, and dress code standards. * Perform additional duties as assigned.
