Job Description:
Support the Virtual Pharmacy team in the development and implementation of programs, policies, and procedures that improve clinical outcomes, maximize resource utilization, and improve performance on clinical quality measures.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks:
* Conduct patient outreach to provide medication refill reminders, medication affordability resources, identify and address barriers to adherence, address gaps in care, and enroll patients in disease management programs.

Answers incoming phone calls to address the needs of residents or staff; takes messages for the pharmacist or Director of Pharmacy.
Collects all prescription orders and delivers filled prescriptions to the nursing stations throughout the facility if directed.
Processes refill and new orders in pharmacy computer software if directed.
Ensures that Pharmacy has an adequate supply of prescription vials, bottles, and labels and notifies Director of Pharmacy if supply is low.
Maintains a good working relationship with co-workers and medical staff.
Regular attendance.
Checks dating of all pharmacy inventories on the shelves periodically and pulls out any expired drugs.
Files all pharmacy records in an orderly manner.
Marginal Functions
Puts away the drugs received daily from the wholesalers on the pharmacy shelves

Minimum Qualifications:
Possession of a valid certificate of registration as a Pharmacy Technician issued by the State Board of Pharmacy set forth in Section 4115 and 4202 of the Business and Professions Code, is required.
Registration requirements shall not apply during the first year of employment for a person employed or utilized as a Pharmacy Technician to assist in the filling of prescriptions for an inmate of a correctional facility of the State Departments of Youth Authority or Corrections, or for a person receiving treatment in a facility operated by the State Department of Veterans Affairs.

Either I:
One year of clerical work experience in a pharmacy relieving a pharmacist of clerical or subprofessional duties. Primary duties must have included stocking shelves with pharmaceutical supplies or typing pharmaceutical labels [Experience in the California state service applied toward this requirement must be in a class at a level of responsibility not less than that of Office Assistant (General), Range B]. (Academic education above the 12th grade may be substituted for the experience on the basis of one year of education of a science or mathematical nature being equivalent to six months' experience.
