The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for assisting with the practice of pharmacy in accordance with state and federal regulations. The incumbent is responsible for using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions. Duties and responsibilities include assisting and coaching pharmacy technicians in the operation of the pharmacy systems and ensures compliance to the company's policies and procedures. Employees model and deliver the highest level of quality healthcare while working directly with patients and their families, doctors and other medical personnel. Supervision is received from the Pharmacist who reviews work for attainment of desired objectives and conformity with departmental policies and procedures through conferences, personal inspections and review of report.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reviews and complies with the Pharmacy Technician Code of Conduct.
Helps healthcare providers and patients by greeting them in person or by phone; answering questions and request; referring inquiries to the Pharmacist that require their attention.
Maintains pharmacy inventory by checking pharmaceutical stock to determine inventory level: anticipating needed medications and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt; removing outdated drugs.
Maintains knowledge of asset protection techniques, creates claims for order errors and damaged goods.
Maintains a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Performs duties assigned by the Pharmacist such as utilizing pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information, ensuring information is entered correctly, filling prescriptions by retrieving, counting, pouring pharmaceutical drugs, verifying medicine is correct and checking for possible interactions.
Reports, immediately, prescription error to the Pharmacist and adheres to company policies and procedures in regard to pharmacy errors and quality improvement.
Follows all applicable government regulations including HIPAA, Medicare and Co-pay requirements.
Engages patients by offering assistance, resolving issues and answering questions to ensure a positive patient experience.
Responsible and accountable for registering all related sales on assigned cash register, collects and handles cash as required.
Directs and assists team members as needed to maintain workflow and meet/ complete deadlines as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager or Pharmacist on duty.
Processes claims for 3rd party reimbursement efficiently and correctly to third-party insurance providers to obtain payment.
Earns and maintains certification and licensure as required per state regulations. Attends training and completes as requested by the Pharmacy Manager and acquires continuing education credits.
Maintains knowledge and skill in healthcare and pharmacy.
Performs other duties as assigned and modified at manager's discretion.
PAY RANGE:

Remove soon to expire medication and replace as needed.
Build new EKITS as needed.
Periodically check shelves containing EKIT inventory for expired drugs

Pre-package medication and products manually.
Ensure pre-pack log is completed each time medication is packaged.

Qualifications

Responsibilities
Help prepare and package medications under a pharmacist's supervision, demonstrating a commitment to quality, efficiency, and excellence
Identify and manage orders needing attention and communicate timely and effectively to other Prosper Infusion staff
Greet patients using messaging platform and provide excellent customer service
Coordinate delivery of medications
Attend and participate in all staff meetings, patient care meetings, in-service education, or on-going educational training with demonstration of competency specific to the pharmacy technician role
Responsible for knowing and adhering to policies and procedures governing pharmacy operations and pharmacy technician responsibilities
Responsible for knowing and adhering to State Pharmacy regulations governing pharmacy technicians
Assist pharmacist(s) in inventory procedures including record keeping and ordering
Log, shelve, and rotate incoming inventory and overstock
Proactively identify and communicate inventory stock concerns to designated company personnel and work collaboratively to problem solve delays and challenges that arise during the workday
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
College degree preferred
Registered Pharmacy Technician in the State of Florida
Minimum of one-year experience in a retail pharmacy or specialty pharmacy
Knowledge of basic pharmacy terminology, evaluation, and pharmaceutical law
Excellence verbal and written communication skills
Top notch customer service
Must understand computer technology
Demonstrated knowledge and competency in sterile compounding (USP 797) preferred but not required

The Pharmacy Technician will work directly with Premier Community HealthCare Group's patients on providing best-in-class customer service at our pharmacy and perform a variety of activities in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations. Under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, will support the patient care efforts of the pharmacy team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Provide a best-in-class patient experience for those visiting Premier's pharmacies. Ensure patients are taken care of in a timely manner and maintain a high level of customer service and professionalism.
* Answer phones in a prompt, courteous and helpful manner. Answering questions within their scope and referring inquiries to the pharmacist.
* Assists the pharmacist in the preparation, filling, and delivery of medications and other tasks associated with dispensing.
* Ensures the patient receives correct medication by using appropriate dispensing procedures.
* Maintains adequate stock of medication and supplies, uses safety precautions when stocking; ensures proper filling techniques are used when preparing medications.
* Disseminates any information (drug shortages, availability, pricing, etc.) in a timely manner to the pharmacist and peers.
* Re-establishes priorities based on workload and pharmacist's directions.
* Ensures insurance adjudication and pre-authorizations are processed in a timely manner.
* Ensure confidentiality and HIPAA compliance at all times.
* Keep other care team members informed when situations occur that disrupts timely patient flow through site.
* Demonstrate an understanding of 340B regulations, inventory management and managing a point-of-sale (POS) system.
