FLSA: NON - EXEMPT Duties/Responsibilities: Prepare, label, and package medications accurately under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist while processing prescriptions and refills to maintain complete and accurate patient records. Mix or compound medications as necessary, following established protocols and safety guidelines. Operate and maintain pharmacy equipment essential for the preparation and dispensing of medications. Monitor medication stock levels to ensure availability, reorder supplies as needed, and help stock shelves by checking expiration dates and quantities on hand. Verify patient eligibility for Medicaid, HCHCP, and other third-party payers, while pulling and replacing filed prescriptions needing refills and performing other filing tasks as required. Answer phone calls, responding to routine inquiries from physicians, nurses, and patients, and refer more complex questions to the pharmacist. Greet patients, accept prescriptions, and provide basic information regarding medications and pharmacy services. Qualifications: * Must be a Florida Board of Pharmacy Registered Pharmacy Technician * High School diploma * A minimum of 1 to 2 years' experience as a registered pharmacy technician * Strongly prefer a current Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certificate or Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT) certificate * Basic understanding of 340 B Federal Program (preferred) * Obtain and maintain Epic certification throughout employment. About This Role: Prescription Processing & Dispensing: Assists with reading, interpreting, and processing prescriptions under pharmacist supervision, including counting, pouring, reconstituting medications, selecting containers, and labeling. Verifies correct prescriptions at pickup and accepts payment. Patient & Provider Communication: Maintains accurate patient profiles and communicates with prescribers for refills and insurance carriers to resolve claims. Triages phone calls and assists patients at drop-off and pick-up. Inventory & Workflow Management: Maintains medication and supply inventory, orders non-CII items, removes expired or unclaimed medications, and supports inventory preparation. Upholds safety and labeling standards, especially for lookalike/sound-alike drugs. Compliance & Record Keeping: Ensures regulatory compliance through accurate documentation, proper record archiving, daily/monthly reporting, and refrigerator temperature logs. Follows corporate compliance and loss prevention policies. Professionalism & Training: Maintains active Pharmacy Technician License, supports technician student training, stays informed on industry updates, and contributes to a clean and organized work environment.
