The Pharmacy Technician supports the Pharmacist under direct supervision and plays an integral role in the daily operations of the pharmacy. This position assists with both retail pharmacy functions and sterile compounding activities. Responsibilities * Assist pharmacists with pharmacy practice in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations, HIPAA guidelines, and corporate policies by accurately interpreting prescription orders and entering them into the pharmacy system. * Support pharmacists in obtaining accurate verbal orders for product replacement and missing prescription information from healthcare providers. * Manage patient adherence processes and schedule medication deliveries according to Pharmacy Solutions guidelines. * Assist patients with treatment compliance by updating current medications, allergies, and medical conditions, and triage calls to Nursing and/or Pharmacists as necessary. * Communicate with health insurance payors and providers using internal and web tools to investigate benefits and verify prescription coverage. * Recommend process and system improvements to increase efficiency and productivity in pharmacy operations and communicate ideas with supervisors. * Interact professionally and efficiently with internal and external teams to ensure accurate provision of services to patients. * Collaborate with necessary personnel to support changing business priorities by executing specific tasks related to patients, products, or services provided by Pharmacy Solutions. * Handle inbound and outbound calls, prioritize work, organize and perform testing as business requires, and complete other tasks as designated by management. * Check pharmacist voicemail and perform additional responsibilities as deemed necessary for business management.
