Work Environment

However, there is a possibility of a hybrid schedule in the future, allowing for three days remote and two days in-office, based on performance and attendance. Position Summary
We are seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join our pharmacy team. The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for performing clinical and technical tasks within pharmacy operations. Responsibilities include assisting in all phases of dispensing prescriptions and maintaining adequate inventory of medications and supplies under the direct supervision of a pharmacist or the Director of Pharmacy Affairs.
Essential Responsibilities
* Properly identify medication from stock shelves and count out proper quantity as ordered per SOP
* Receive, read, and prepare typed prescription labels accurately
* Counsel patients and maintain education literature under pharmacist supervision
* Verify eligibility under insurance plans and third-party payers; calculate costs accordingly
* Answer phones, respond to routine questions, and refer complex inquiries to the pharmacist
* Complete quality control/assurance activities and maintain data records
* Initiate or receive provider communications regarding refill authorizations; manage filed prescriptions
* Abide by Florida Board of Pharmacy laws related to Pharmacy Technicians
* Maintain pharmacy operations including cash handling, inventory, supplies, and peer technician development
* Adhere strictly to HIPAA, TFHC, accreditation agency, and State/Federal regulations
* Support TFHC's Mission, Vision, and Values in daily practice
* Follow up with care team members or patients regarding complaints or concerns
* Promote positive public relations with patients, visitors, and the community
* Maintain clean and organized workspaces and surrounding areas
* Complete all assigned duties effectively and efficiently
Qualifications
* Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish required to effectively communicate with and provide care to our diverse patient population.
* High school diploma or equivalent required
* Current BLS certification required (renew every 2 years)
* Pharmacy Technician Certification through an approved technical school, or minimum of 6 months' experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy
* Completion of 340B University OnDemand Statement of Completion Certificate within first 2 weeks of employment
* Annual completion of 340B University renewal course, Peer Review, and Fraud/Waste/Abuse training

The Pharmacy Technician will work directly with Premier Community HealthCare Group's patients on providing best-in-class customer service at our pharmacy and perform a variety of activities in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide a best-in-class patient experience for those visiting Premier's pharmacies. Ensure patients are taken care of in a timely manner and maintain a high level of customer service and professionalism.
Answer phones in a prompt, courteous and helpful manner. Answering questions within their scope and referring inquiries to the pharmacist.
Assists the pharmacist in the preparation, filling, and delivery of medications and other tasks associated with dispensing.
Ensures the patient receives correct medication by using appropriate dispensing procedures.
Maintains adequate stock of medication and supplies, uses safety precautions when stocking; ensures proper filling techniques are used when preparing medications.
Disseminates any information (drug shortages, availability, pricing, etc.) in a timely manner to the pharmacist and peers.
Re-establishes priorities based on workload and pharmacist's directions.
Ensures insurance adjudication and pre-authorizations are processed in a timely manner.
Ensure confidentiality and HIPAA compliance at all times.
Keep other care team members informed when situations occur that disrupts timely patient flow through site.
Demonstrate an understanding of 340B regulations, inventory management and managing a point-of-sale (POS) system.

Education and Experience
High School Diploma or Equivalent

Under the direction of the Pharmacy Supervisor/Manager, the pharmacy technician for data entry is responsible for processing prescriptions according to client specifications, and other duties assigned.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Verify information on prescriptions received prior to processing (correct prescriber, name of patient, patient information, medication, dose, quantity, number of refills, lot, and expiration date).
Communicate with Louisville Knipper Pharmacy (LKP) representatives as necessary to ensure medication compliance, medication and supply inventory, and overall coordination of care and as applicable.
Follow HIPAA and privacy law guidelines, and any other local or federal laws.
Maintain all records including prescription logs and related files.
Evaluate all completed prescriptions/authorizations to ensure that the appropriate information has been obtained to allow for compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
Perform follow up on all outstanding prescriptions/authorizations and communicate discrepancies to pharmacist or PSC technicians.
Perform problem solving on order delays.
Maintain a clean and orderly work site.
Perform routine and professional pharmacy functions.
Accountable for checking patient history for any duplicate orders and follow proper procedures.

Qualifications
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
High School diploma or equivalent
Kentucky Pharmacy Technician Registration
Kentucky requires a licensed pharmacy technician to be over the age of 18.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
One (1) year of previous specialty pharmacy technician experience.
Nationally certified through the PTCB or another approved certifying agency
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Knowledge of medical terminology (including sig codes and Roman numerals), brand and generic names of medications, and general pharmacy terminology
Computer literacy to include operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, presentation software, communication and collaboration tools, and Adobe PDF or comparable

The Pharmacy Technician will work directly with Premier Community HealthCare Group's patients on providing best-in-class customer service at our pharmacy and perform a variety of activities in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations. Under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, will support the patient care efforts of the pharmacy team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide a best-in-class patient experience for those visiting Premier's pharmacies. Ensure patients are taken care of in a timely manner and maintain a high level of customer service and professionalism.
Answer phones in a prompt, courteous and helpful manner. Answering questions within their scope and referring inquiries to the pharmacist.
Assists the pharmacist in the preparation, filling, and delivery of medications and other tasks associated with dispensing.
Ensures the patient receives correct medication by using appropriate dispensing procedures.
Maintains adequate stock of medication and supplies, uses safety precautions when stocking; ensures proper filling techniques are used when preparing medications.
Disseminates any information (drug shortages, availability, pricing, etc.) in a timely manner to the pharmacist and peers.
Re-establishes priorities based on workload and pharmacist's directions.
Ensures insurance adjudication and pre-authorizations are processed in a timely manner.
Ensure confidentiality and HIPAA compliance at all times.
Keep other care team members informed when situations occur that disrupts timely patient flow through site.
Demonstrate an understanding of 340B regulations, inventory management and managing a point-of-sale (POS) system.
Adhere to patient care needs and the core values of Premier Community HealthCare to a provide best-in-class patient experience.
Work towards attaining department goals and drive Quality Improvement / Quality Assurance (QI/QA).
