Responsibilities Medication Preparation & Delivery Helps process and deliver medication to all patient care areas in a timely and accurate manner (ie, cartfill, ADC replenishment, ADC stockouts, secure sends, STAT medication orders, IV workflow software). Accurately labels dispensed medications with correct expiration dates (ie out of refrigerator dating), tamper tape and other auxiliary labels prior to pharmacist check. Executes time management skills to triage the priority of assigned daily tasks (eg, premix kit assembly, repackaging, IV batching, Medcarousel restock of daily purchase order, medication returns to MedCarousel) Follows the assigned workflow and/or job card for assigned work areas. Documents delivery of medication via the designated medication tracking software. Answers incoming phone calls and utilizes a professional greeting, triaging skills and addresses medication verification, preparation or delivery concerns within scope of license and transfers requests to pharmacists when appropriate. Answers telephone in a timely manner, following organizational and departmental policy. Assist customers by answering simple non-medical questions, filling prescriptions, checking out previously approved prescriptions or referring them to the pharmacists for medication information. Receive written prescriptions or electronic fill requests and verify that information is complete and accurate. Use the information to enter a prescription for filling. Fill prescription using the premade labels to determine which medication is needed. Fill prescriptions bottles with the correctly counted prescribed medications and affix correct premade labels for the pharmacist to verify. Complete owes from previous day. Operate cash register to accept payment from customers. Inventory management, which includes, but is not limited to: ordering, restocking, entering order, updating inventory counts, maintaining par levels, verifying expiration dates and removing at risk medications. Maintains proper storage and security conditions for drugs. Manufacturer patient assistance programs which includes, but is not limited to: assisting patients with completing applications, complete provider section for provider signature, faxing completed applications through Athena, stock ordered medication in patient specific bag, identifying when patients need reorders, and maintaining and refrigerating medication stock for minimum supply level and expiration dates. Cleaning, which includes, but is not limited to: cleaning bathroom and lobby, removing trash cans at end of day, maintaining shred bins, sweeping & mopping floors, dusting shelves, and wiping downs counters. Operations management which includes but is not limited to: stocking and maintaining labels, vials, caps, bags and cleaning supplies and delegating tasks to students Conduct return to stock weekly by pulling scripts and letting patients know on Wednesday or Thursday and reversing them on Monday. Any clinic related task delegated by pharmacist at Christ Health is considered part of this job description.
