Job DescriptionDescription: The Pharmacist is responsible for providing pharmacy services to patients of the pharmacy. Key Responsibilities * Provide supervision for the pharmacy including overseeing pharmacists, technicians, and a distribution team. * Manages the workflow processes related to order entry, initial review of orders, and daily and cycle-fill production processes. * Monitor industry, regulatory and compliance industry, regulatory and compliance developments (e.g., State Board of Pharmacy, DEA, FDA, etc.) for pending regulatory changes and work with the pharmacy leadership team to address them * Communicate and educate staff on pharmacy-related issues such as regulatory changes/compliance, FDA drug recalls, etc. * Carry out policies and procedures for the procurement, storage, security, and disposition of medications in the pharmacy. * Maintain all required pharmacy and technician licenses and registrations as required by the state. * Work with leadership to respond to the board regarding any warning notice or communication from the state board of pharmacy, DEA, or other regulatory agency. * Carry out policies and procedures aligned with organization standards for maintaining integrity and confidentiality of prescription information and patient health care information, and ensure that all employees of the pharmacy read, sign, and comply with policies. * Perform and maintain records for all controlled substances and controlled substance prescriptions in the pharmacy. * Work with leadership to respond to and resolve all regulatory survey inquiries. * Performs all job duties with a friendly, positive, and team-oriented approach. * All other duties as assigned by the Tarrytown Expocare leadership team. Requirements Skills & Abilities * Must possess an appropriate California State Board of Pharmacy Pharmacist License. * Minimum of five years of pharmacy practice with management experience in long-term care required. * Minimum 3 years of PIC/pharmacy management experience. * Experience maintaining regulatory compliance with state and federal regulatory agencies. * Experience with pharmacy system conversions is preferred but not required. * Excellent project management, communication, and people/organization skills. * Demonstrated track record of setting and managing team goals / KPIs, ensuring accountability and a performance-driven culture. * Experience redesigning and simplifying workflow processes to improve efficiency and quality. * Experience with FrameworkLTC is preferred but not required. * Positive personality who can work well within a team. * Ability to function well in a high-paced and occasionally stressful environment. * Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. * Can de-escalate and troubleshoot problems within the pharmacy. What You'll Bring to the Team: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree. 8+ years of experience as a pharmacist, with at least 5 years as a PIC or pharmacy manager. Strong knowledge of state and federal pharmacy laws, rules, and regulations. Active pharmacist license in California, unencumbered; willingness to obtain additional licenses in other states. Regulatory, compliance, or audit experience, with demonstrated success managing inspections and audits. Knowledge of compounding regulations (USP , , ). Mail order or central fill pharmacy experience. Experience with inventory management, scheduling, and project management. Effective leadership, coaching, and communication skills to drive team success. Ability to work flexible shifts as needed.
