Procedures for merchandise and inventory control, and financial management including participation in economical use of supplies, products and resources. Monitoring of patient medication therapy. Quality control procedures involved in intravenous admixture and unit dose medications. Departmental interactions with administration, nursing, and ancillary staff. Provide clinical drug information to meet the needs of the physician, nurse and patient. Interpretation of medication orders, scheduling medications, maintaining profiles, and proper selection and control of medication. Participating in hospital performance improvement activities. Supporting and following hospital policies and procedures, performing only within the legal scope of practice, and following professional standards.
