The UMMC Discharge Pharmacy Internship Program offer outstanding experience to expose students to a variety of areas within the pharmacy, while developing a strong skillset of clinical knowledge and understanding of pharmacy operations. During summer hours, interns will be given the opportunity to rotate through additional outstanding areas including solid organ transplant, and other departments. This position is based in a retail/discharge pharmacy, helping interns to develop effective interpersonal skills as they coordinate patients care with residents, physicians, and other member of the University healthcare team. Primary intern responsibilities include order entry, dispensing, and patient counseling.
