Oncology pharmacists ensure safety in compounding, preparing, and dispensing chemotherapy as well as educating patients, caregivers, family and other healthcare experts. Pharmacists work with the oncology team to deliver a wide variety of services to patients, including education, aiding with chemotherapy order writing, monitoring AEs, evaluating drug-drug and drug-disease interactions, and providing supportive care. Pharmacists work with clinicians to ensure safe and effective drug therapy, prevent and manage drug related problems.
Job Duties:
Prepare medications by reviewing and interpreting physician orders; detecting therapeutic incompatibilities.
Monitor drug therapy to evaluate appropriateness of use, dose, dosage form, regimen, route, therapeutic duplication, and drug interactions.
Dispense medications by compounding, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals.
Consult with clinicians and communicate ongoing patient information and efficacy and safety of treatment regimen(s) to all care providers.
Control medications by monitoring drug therapies; advising interventions.
Complete pharmacy operational requirements by organizing and directing technicians' work flow; verifying their preparation and labeling of pharmaceuticals; verifying order entries, charges, and inspections.
Comply with state and federal drug laws as regulated by the state board of pharmacy, the drug enforcement administration, and the food and drug administration; maintaining records for controlled substances; removing outdated and damaged drugs from the pharmacy inventory.
Acts in a collaborative role with the medical and hospital staff.

Basic Qualifications
BS in Pharmacy or Pharmacist Degree from an accredited educational institution.
Current pharmacist licensure in the states within the district.
Experience performing prescription dispensing activities that demonstrate a strong working knowledge of applicable state and federal controlled substance laws.
Certified Immunizer or willing to become an immunizer within 90 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications

Job Description
A Pharmacist's primary responsibility is to ensure patients receive safe and appropriate medication. Pharmacists fill prescriptions based on the information and dosage provided by the doctor.
