    Pharmacy internship job in Fort Myers, FL

    Pay Range: Maintains the ordering and stocking of medications and supplies as needed in the clinic. Under supervision of appropriate licensed healthcare professional as defined by State regulations, prepares and mixes medications. Coordinates with drug sales representatives, and pharmaceutical companies to obtain samples, teaching aids, and compassionate drugs. Acts as liaison between Physicians, Nursing, Pharmacy Supervisor and Purchasing in obtaining special order medications. Qualifications Minimum of three years' experience in the healthcare field, preferably in a clinical setting as a Pharmacy Technician is preferred. Following applicable state regulations, PTCB Certification or Registered as Pharmacy Technician is required. Medical terminology and attention to detail is desirable. Fluency in the English language as well as strong communication skills to interact with a wide variety of personalities. This role supports safe and accurate medication preparation and distribution to our member health systems helping ensure quality care reaches every patient we serve. The Opportunity Are you dependable, detail-oriented, and passionate about supporting healthcare operations? As a Pharmacy Technician, you'll assist the pharmacist and pharmacy leadership team in daily operations ensuring accurate medication tray replenishment, maintaining inventory, and upholding the highest standards of quality and compliance. You'll play a critical part in ensuring medication, safety and reliability throughout our network. The Shift: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week. 8:30AM to 5:00PM. This is a temporary position. Key Responsibilities Prepare and label medications, including refrigerated products, in accordance with expiration dates and safety protocols. Replenish and maintain medication trays using TRAYSAFE equipment and software. Support daily inventory management, restocking, and disposal or return of expired products. Deliver medications and related supplies to member facilities. Maintain a clean, organized workspace and properly functioning equipment. Assist in preparing invoices and documentation to ensure accuracy. Demonstrate reliability, professionalism, and attention to detail in all tasks. Communicate clearly and professionally with peers, customers, and leadership. Qualifications What You'll Bring Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Florida Pharmacy Technician license preferred. Experience: At least one year of related pharmacy technician experience preferred. Skills & Attributes: Strong multitasking, organization, and attention to detail. Dependable and self-motivated with a commitment to accuracy. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 35-50 lbs, stand or walk for extended periods, and use required PPE.
