The Allied Health School (AHS) Pharm Tech Educator is responsible for the development and implementation of curriculum designed to prepare students for successful careers in various allied health fields. This role involves the development of educational programs that accounts for diverse learning styles aligned with student demographics and learning methods, revising the curriculum to align with current industry standards ensures course curriculum aligns with accreditation standards and ensures academic excellence and professional readiness in the dynamic healthcare landscape. The AHS Pharm Tech Educator is responsible for ensuring the delivery and teaching of the material as well as maintaining administrative components of education system including grading, reviewing polices & creating testing standards. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Formulates and revises orientation manuals, course materials, lectures, and tests to ensure curriculum incorporates evidence based practices and meets accreditation and standards as well as medical center expectations. Implements and reviews program policies and procedures in partnership with the AHS Program Director. Independently develops and teaches introductory and core courses in their area of specialization. Responsible for developing courses for online instruction and multiple technologies while supporting a diverse population of learning needs. Develops learning modules, hands on activities, assessments and multimedia content that address various learning styles (visual, auditory, kinesthetic, etc.). Continually assess the effectiveness of instructional methods and adjusts as needed. Advises and teaches students, leads lab skill demonstrations, practice and testing of students. Provides guidance and support to students to ensure they meet learning objectives and are prepared for professional certification. Responsible for the planning and oversight of student clinical rotations across CSMC affiliate locations and periodically evaluates the quality, contribution and appropriateness of all clinical preceptors participating in clinical instruction. Directs and advises students on developing research and advancing knowledge in their field of specialty through in-person teaching and training. Maintains ongoing communication with medical center staff as to clinical schedules and status of student experience. Serves on educational committees and participates in the broader development of the Allied Health School and disciplinary committees. Responsible for the organization, administration, review & maintenance of performance and educational records on all students within the AHS clinical program. In collaboration with the AHS Program Director may assists with recruiting new students, screening applications, and interviewing potential students for the training program. Performs other education or technical related duties as assigned by the AHS Pharm Tech Program Director or the clinical or technical department leadership team. Department-Specific Responsibilities: Responsible for maintaining skills in Preparing compounded sterile and/or non-sterile products according to P&P and SOPs, which include aseptic technique, if applicable: garbing, label preparation, control records/master formulation record and other record-keeping requirements, storage, handling, and waste management, transport, visual inspection, area and equipment cleaning and maintenance, proper beyond use dating labeling, documents quality control/assurance activities, and complete required recertifications. Appropriately receives ordered medications and supplies. Assures items received have a verifiable EPIC scannable barcode prior to placing in stock. Ensures received items are reconciled with packing slips and that stat orders, satellite orders and Pyxis orders are filled accurately and timely. Responsible for maintaining skills in Performing labeling, packaging, obtaining medication and getting it ready for distribution and utilizes dispense prep to accurately prepare doses as required. Responsible for maintaining skills in performing controlled substance management accurately and according to regulation and accurately documents preparation on investigational drug product log sheets, if applicable. Acts as a liaison in medication-related problem solving for patient care units, including but not limited to narcotic discrepancies, automated dispensing cabinet/cart discrepancies and drug storage issues. Actively identifies methods and approaches to simplify work processes, decrease medication waste, and increase the quality of services provided. Participates in the education and training of pharmacy staff including pharmacy technician externs. Responsibilities Preparation of Inpatient Medications for dispensing by pharmacist: Runs computer cassette fill lists and completes filling of cassettes within designated time frame. No more than 1 error per 250 units during cassette filling as documented on cassette fill log. Accurately fills medications needed from chart orders and labels generated during order entry process. Provides bulk containers for examination by pharmacist prior to dispensing medications which are not unit dose items. Under pharmacist supervision, may perform other duties as assigned by the pharmacist and permitted by pharmacy law. Ensure SOP governance, ensuring all pharmacy operations are documented, standardized, and compliant. Oversee inspections from boards of pharmacy and other regulatory bodies, demonstrating expertise across all pharmacy processes and systems. Partner with Supply Chain and Quality teams to ensure proper drug handling, receiving, tracking, and ingredient quality. Develop and implement strategic operational plans to achieve departmental and company goals. Collaborate with healthcare providers and cross-functional teams (e.g., Product, Engineering, Quality) to optimize member outcomes and support new product launches. Lead, coach, and manage pharmacy staff through 1:1s, team huddles, and accountability structures. Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes professionalism, safety, compliance, and continuous improvement. Maintain and expand licensure in multiple states (15+), enabling the facility to support Ro's growing national footprint. What You'll Bring to the Team: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree. 8+ years of experience as a pharmacist, with at least 5 years as a PIC or pharmacy manager. Strong knowledge of state and federal pharmacy laws, rules, and regulations. Active pharmacist license in California, unencumbered; willingness to obtain additional licenses in other states. Regulatory, compliance, or audit experience, with demonstrated success managing inspections and audits. Knowledge of compounding regulations (USP , , ). Mail order or central fill pharmacy experience. Experience with inventory management, scheduling, and project management. Effective leadership, coaching, and communication skills to drive team success. Ability to work flexible shifts as needed.
