Verification and fill of controlled substance orders, schedules III, IV, and V. Perform Quality Assurance functions and supervision of contracted Pharmacy Technicians. Follow CMOP policies regarding documentation and reports to meet VA and TJC policy. Note any unusual doses, wrong drug, wrong strength, or drug mix up and report the information in accordance with local CMOP policies. Provide full checking, labeling, and quality assurance within the guidance (written VHA handbooks, written CMOP policies, and training that will be provided by the CMOP) of the Department of Veterans Affairs regarding pharmaceutical medications. Dispense medications within corporate and regulatory guidelines for controlled substances. QUALIFICATIONS: Shall be licensed in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia. Shall be Certified Technician (CPhT) with a current valid certification by the National Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB). Must be licensed for controlled substances. Pass a background check (Tier 1 investigation). EDUCATION: Must be a graduate of an American Council on Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE) accredited school or university. Pharmacists who are licensed but have been subjected to disciplinary action of any type by their licensing authority within the preceding five years, must be referred to CMOP management before proceeding with the hiring action.
