Park Nicollet is looking to hire a Student Intern to join our Pharmacy team! Under the direct supervision of a licensed Pharmacist, according to state and federal law and in accordance with Park Nicollet policy and procedure, the Pharmacy Student Intern is responsible for providing customer service, and preparing medications and supplies for patients, patient care areas and ancillary departments. The Pharmacy Student Intern also aids the pharmacist in processing of outpatient prescriptions, receives, stocks and reorders medications and supplies, handles cash register transactions, prepares sterile and non-sterile compounds, delivers medications, assists the pharmacist as required. Pharmacy Students in their 2nd-4th year may check the work completed by pharmacy technicians. The Pharmacy Student Intern in their 3rd or 4th year of pharmacy school may also be eligible to assist the Emergency Center Pharmacist with medication reconciliation and the Hospice Program Pharmacist with hospice chart review. Work Schedule: One evening a week/every 4th weekend. Required Qualifications: Currently enrolled in an accredited professional pharmacy program. The UMMC Discharge Pharmacy Internship Program offer outstanding experience to expose students to a variety of areas within the pharmacy, while developing a strong skillset of clinical knowledge and understanding of pharmacy operations. During summer hours, interns will be given the opportunity to rotate through additional outstanding areas including solid organ transplant, and other departments. This position is based in a retail/discharge pharmacy, helping interns to develop effective interpersonal skills as they coordinate patients care with residents, physicians, and other member of the University healthcare team. Primary intern responsibilities include order entry, dispensing, and patient counseling. Intern will become familiar with a wide array of medication that University patients use to treat sophisticate disease states through patient counseling and presentation, of which intern will have the opportunity to both attend and lead. Interns will be encouraged to work 32 to 40 hours per week during the summer/winter break (except for IPPEs) and at least 3 shifts per pay period during the academic calendar year. Shifts during the school year typically include one or two 8 hours weekend shifts and one or two 4 to 6 hours weekday shifts per a 2-week pay period. Additional hours may be available depending on the intern's availability. Enrollment in fully accredited College of Pharmacy Doctorate of Pharmacy degree program. Park Nicollet is looking to hire a Student Intern to join our Pharmacy team! Under the direct supervision of a licensed Pharmacist, according to state and federal law and in accordance with Park Nicollet policy and procedure, the Pharmacy Student Intern is responsible for providing customer service, and preparing medications and supplies for patients, patient care areas and ancillary departments. The Pharmacy Student Intern also aids the pharmacist in processing of outpatient prescriptions, receives, stocks and reorders medications and supplies, handles cash register transactions, prepares sterile and non-sterile compounds, delivers medications, assists the pharmacist as required. Pharmacy Students in their 2nd-4th year may check the work completed by pharmacy technicians, The Pharmacy Student Intern in their 3rd or 4th year of pharmacy school may also be eligible to assist the Emergency Center Pharmacist with medication reconciliation and the Hospice Program Pharmacist with hospice chart review. Work Schedule: One evening a week/every 4th weekend. Required Qualifications: Currently enrolled in an accredited professional pharmacy program. Must have a valid driver's license and meet the insurability requirements relating to Park Nicollet's motor vehicle violation criteria. Must be registered with the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician (first year intern) or as a Pharmacy Intern (second through fourth year intern). Preferred Qualifications: Computer skills and familiarity with office software programs is desirable. Knowledge of automated dispensing products is desirable.
