Basic Qualifications
BS in Pharmacy or Pharmacist Degree from an accredited educational institution.
Current pharmacist licensure in the states within the district.
Experience performing prescription dispensing activities that demonstrate a strong working knowledge of applicable state and federal controlled substance laws.
Certified Immunizer or willing to become an immunizer within 90 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
At least 1 year experience as a pharmacist in a retail setting including prescription filling and verification, records and legal compliance, pharmacy operations, pharmacy software and technology systems and insurance.

About this position
The Pharmacy Intern performs a combination of clinical and distributive pharmacy services, under the supervision of a pharmacist, necessary for the provision of pharmaceutical care to each customer. The intern is allowed to participate in any practice activity of a pharmacist, provided that such activity is under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. As the intern progresses, and demonstrates an increase in ability, the preceptor will grant increased latitude. Responsible for their shift workload within the limitations of their internship training. May respond to emergency situations with a licensed pharmacist for educational purposes. Other duties as assigned.
North Memorial Hospital will follow the guidelines outlined in the "Minnesota Pharmacy Internship Competency Manual".
Schedule:
This is a year-round position; we are unable to accommodate summer/holiday breaks only.
Scheduling Requirements: Staffing requirements are 1 weekday and every 3rd weekend. We also ask that all interns provide availability for one Friday evening per month.
Shift times during the week are 5:00pm - 10pm and weekend hours vary from 7am-10pm.

This position is based in a retail/discharge pharmacy, helping interns to develop effective interpersonal skills as they coordinate patients care with residents, physicians, and other member of the University healthcare team. Primary intern responsibilities include order entry, dispensing, and patient counseling. Intern will become familiar with a wide array of medication that University patients use to treat sophisticate disease states through patient counseling and presentation, of which intern will have the opportunity to both attend and lead.
Interns will be encouraged to work 32 to 40 hours per week during the summer/winter break (except for IPPEs) and at least 3 shifts per pay period during the academic calendar year.
