In this role you will:
Learn to provide the best patient experience through assisting the pharmacist and pharmacy team members in accordance with state and federal regulations.
Under the supervision by the pharmacist, assist in the practice of pharmacy, in accordance with state, federal, and company policy. Review and comply with the Stop & Shop Co. Pharmacy policies & procedures.
Assists pharmacists and other healthcare providers in delivering patient care and services that are within the state scope of practice for pharmacy interns including patient counseling and other health services (i.e., immunizations, medication therapy management).
Be Responsible for using pharmacy dispensing software to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
Responsible and accountable for registering all related sales in point of sale /cash register, collects and handles cash as required. Takes customer to OTC aisle when possible to assist in locating products.
Handles telephone calls that do not require personal attention of the pharmacist, including those to physicians.
Assists and supports Pharmacy Department on inventory management activities, such as, ordering, unpacking, checking, cycle counting, and storing of pharmaceuticals.
Assists with Pharmacy Department to ensure it is well stocked, neat and orderly in condition and appearance.
Model and deliver exceptional customer experience.
Performs duties as assigned and supervised by the pharmacist in accordance with Stop & Shop standard operating procedures for entering, third party processing, filling, and dispensing prescriptions.
Complies with all company policies and procedures; maintains respectful relationships with coworkers.
Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.

The facility provides outpatient behavioral health services and operates a sixteen-bed psychiatric inpatient unit. CRMHC is looking for a temporary placement pharmacist for a period of approximately three and a half months. The position will report to the CRMHC full-time Pharmacist and the CRMHC Medical Director. The position is Monday - Friday: 1st shift: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM. On-call is not a component of the position. The temporary placement pharmacist will assist and be directly supervised by the CRMHC Pharmacist. The position involves providing pharmacy services to a proportion of the CRMHC outpatient clients and all the clients on the sixteen-bed inpatient psychiatric unit.
The successful candidate will have experience working with behavioral health clients, able to communicate effectively, work well with pharmacy, nursing, and medical staff, and have familiarity with word processing and pharmacy software systems (experience with a Pyxis system is preferred).
The candidate will need to have successfully graduated from a US accredited pharmacy program. Current licensure as a Registered Pharmacist issued by the Connecticut State Department of Consumer Protection is required.

The Clinical Pharmacist - Hematology/Oncology & BMT Specialist is a licensed pharmacist who serves as the medication-therapy expert for the Hematology/Oncology and Stem Cell Transplant (BMT) programs. The role includes designing, managing, monitoring, verifying, and dispensing drug therapies-including chemotherapy, cellular therapy, immunotherapy, and transplant-support medications-in alignment with institutional SOPs, ACLS/PALS (as applicable), USP standards, and regulatory requirements. The specialist works collaboratively across inpatient and outpatient hematology/oncology and BMT services, oversees pharmacy technician and intern staff, ensures compliance with hospital, state, and federal medication-management standards, and supports hospital-wide pharmacy operations, including Central Pharmacy coverage as staff or charge pharmacist.
Education and/or Experience Required:

BS degree in Pharmacy.
CITI training within 1 year of hire.
Experience: 3 years in hematology/oncology or equivalent.

At Stony Brook Medicine, a Registered Pharmacy Technician is a valuable member of our team who, under the direct personal supervision of a licensed Pharmacist, assists in compounding, preparing, labeling, and/or dispensing of drugs used to fill valid prescriptions or medication orders or in compounding, preparing, and labeling in anticipation of a valid prescription or medication order for a patient to be served by the facility, where such tasks require no professional judgement. The Registered Pharmacy Technician may also assist the Pharmacist with medication dispensing including transferrng oral doses of medication from one container to another, medication transport and delivery, and inventory management. Qualified candidates will demonstrate superior communication and organization skills while adhering to our high standard of excellence.
Duties of a Registered Pharmacy Technician may include but are not limited to the following:
Under the direct personal supervision of a licensed Pharmacist:
Batch-manufacture parenteral solutions using aseptic technique.
Prepare sterile products, both hazardous and non-hazardous, for dispensing to patients of the facility.
Assist in compounding oral dosage forms for patients.
Under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist:
Deliver medication to patient care areas.
Restock the dispensing areas of the Pharmacy; restock automated dispensing cabinets, including controlled drugs.
Receive drug shipments into inventory, maintain appropriate levels of inventory in the work area and check for outdates.
Complete patient care unit inspections.
Repackage medications from bulk storage to individual unit-dose packages.
Assist in labeling of medication in preparation for dispensing .
Answer phone calls and route to the appropriate individual.
Assist at the dispensing window.
Process invoices; file inventory paperwork.
Qualifications
Required: Current valid NY State Registered Pharmacy Technician license and registration. Current valid Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National Health career Association (NHA) Pharmacy Technician certification.
Preferred: One more more years of hospital Pharmacy Technician experience. Associate's degree or higher. Experience in sterile compounding.

Anticipated Pay Range:
The salary range (or hiring range) for this position is $48,960 - $69,805 / year.
The above salary range represents SBUH's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
