Promotes the safe and effective use of medication for all patients of the hospital through proper interpretation of physician orders, accurate dispensing of pharmaceuticals, and monitoring of therapy. Provides accurate, adequate and timely drug information to other health care providers. Maintains and reviews patient profiles and makes recommendations to ensure appropriateness of therapy, avoid drug interactions and adverse reaction. Provides for appropriate inventories of approved medication for routine, emergency, and floor stock situation.
Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduate of an ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy, ASHP residency preceptor status as soon as eligible. Bachelors of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy required.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: Licensure or eligibility for licensure by New Mexico Board of Pharmacy is required. BPS (Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties in Oncology) certification or Pharmacist Clinician certification preferred. Continuous education to maintain licensure is required. NM Sterile Product Preparation Certification is required. Safe Handling of Hazardous Medications course (or similar course approved by pharmacy director/manager) is required within 2 months.

Keyboarding skills are preferred (must be able to develop competence using hospital pharmacy software). Word processing skills are preferred

Knowledge of USP 797 and USP 800 regulations is required.

Operations

Strictly adheres to the Walgreen Co. policy regarding Good Faith Dispensing during all applicable prescription dispensing activities.
Responsible and accountable for registering all related sales on assigned cash register, collects and handles cash as required. Takes customer to OTC aisle when possible to assist in locating products.
Handles telephone calls that do not require personal attention of the pharmacist, including those to physicians.
Processes (corrects and resubmits) manual claims for third party program prescription services in a timely and efficient manner, and performs other clerical duties, as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager.
Assists and supports Pharmacy Department on inventory management activities, such as, ordering, unpacking, checking and storing shipment of pharmaceuticals. Maintains knowledge of Company asset protection techniques, and files claims for warehouse overages (merchandise received, but not billed), shortages (merchandise billed, but not received), order errors or damaged goods involving Rx drugs.
May assist pharmacist in administering clinical services including the collection and proper labeling of blood/urine samples from patients and other clinical services as required; assists pharmacy staff in coordination of clinical services, Walgreens healthcare clinics and external providers.
Assists Pharmacy Manager and Staff Pharmacist in developing and maintaining good relationships with the local medical community, including physicians, nurses, and other health care providers, by medical provider detailing and outreach to health groups, retirement homes, nursing homes, and other forums for enhancing growth opportunities.
Assists with exterior and interior maintenance by ensuring the Pharmacy Department is stocked with adequate supplies, clean, neat and orderly in condition and appearance.
Complies with all company policies and procedures; maintains respectful relationships with coworkers.
Completes special assignments and other tasks as assigned.
Training & Personal Development
Earns and maintains PTCB certification through the designated PTCB training program and/or state required certification/registration. Otherwise, earns PTCB certification as condition of promotion to senior technician.
Attends training requested by Manager and acquires continuing education credits. Maintains knowledge and skill in healthcare and pharmacy, including latest news and developments.
Basic Qualifications
Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English. (Except in Puerto Rico)

Preferred Qualifications
Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
Prefer to have prior work experience with Walgreens.

Job Summary: The Pharmacist in Charge is responsible for operational and compliance duties as well as routine operations of the department. When on duty the PIC will fill orders for drugs, monitor patient drug therapies, and provide drug information and is responsible for all clinical aspects of patient drug therapy.
Principal Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with all state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations, audits and inspections.

Have the ability to assess, interpret and communicated age specific criteria in medications therapy.
Maintain records of Pharmacy Department transactions as required by applicable law and departmental policy.
Participate in approved continuing education programs to enhance professional capabilities.
Perform clinical duties as required by Medical Staff and Departmental policies and drug protocols and at personal discretion when necessary.

Education/Licensure Requirements:
Graduate of an ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy with a BS in Pharmacy, Pharm D. preferred.
Currently licensed to practice pharmacy in the State of New Mexico as confirmed by the New Mexico Board of Pharmacy.
At least 1-2 years of hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
Work Schedule: Full-time: Minimum of 32 hours per week. Includes weekends and Holidays as necessary.
Professional Experience:

We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled 503A Staff Pharmacist to join our team at FARMAKEIO. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe, accurate, and compliant compounding of medications in accordance with state and federal regulations, including FDA guidelines for 503A pharmacies.

POSITION SUMMARY

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Review, interpret, and accurately dispense prescribed medications when necessitated by workload. Ensure the use of all elements of dispensing in conjunction with state and federally-controlled substance laws.
Consult with medical providers to clarify prescribed medications, dosages, refills, interactions, and allergies to suggest alternative medications, and answer medical provider questions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in prescription dispensing that demonstrate a strong working knowledge of applicable state and federal controlled substance laws.
Bachelor Degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy Degree (DPh/PharmD) recognized by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education or the US Department of Education.
1. Current, active, full and unrestricted license as a Registered Pharmacist from any US state or the District of Columbia.

The AHCH Pharmacy Technician supports the Pharmacist in the day-to-day operations of the AHCH onsite Pharmacy. This position also provides support to integrated primary care and delivers exceptional customer service to clients.
This is a .8 (32 hour) - 1.0 (40 hour) position that will work Monday-Friday.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Prescription processing (data entry, filing, billing, labeling)
Pre-package medications for clinic use.
Inventory management
340B compliance and reporting.
Patient/client services including signing out prescriptions, answering phones, assisting clients at pharmacy window and answering questions.
Maintain Pharmacy standards per Board of Pharmacy rules and regulations.
Work collaboratively in an integrated manner with AHCH team
Attend department meetings and huddles.
Must comply with ALL AHCH policies and procedures
Minimum Qualifications:
Active and unrestricted NM Pharmacy Technician licensure, and CPhT.
Ability to thrive in a complex non-profit healthcare setting.
Have a strong desire to work in an integrated/cross-disciplinary team model.
Experience working with an EHR and/or Pharmacy software.
1 year of experience as Pharmacy Tech
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of and experience with the Federal 340b Drug Pricing Program.
Previous experience working in a FQHC or community health organization.
Bilingual Spanish/English.
Experience working with underserved populations including people experiencing homelessness, people who use drugs, people with serious mental illness, etc

Job Summary
The Pharmacy Technician under the direct supervision of the (Market) Manager/Director of Pharmacy or Registered Pharmacist - and according to the standards procedures-dispenses additives for IV and irrigating solutions, mixes IV additive solutions as required using aseptic technique with the laminar air flow hood, types labels, prepares and files charge slips, and performs other related duties.
Essential Functions
Assists Pharmacist to prepare and dispense medication.
Mixes pharmaceutical preparations, fills bottles with prescribed tablets and capsules, and prepares labels for bottles.
Fills orders with correct medications. Prepares unit of use dosage when possible.
Processes records of medication and equipment dispensed to patient, computes charges, and enters data in computer.
Prepares intravenous (IV) packs.
Generates required reports; pick i.v., production reports. Performs backup procedures correctly.
Recycles product as appropriate. Changes prep and expiration date on recycled product.
Dates times and initials all vials for reuse.
Prioritizes work (i.e. stats made first). Delivers IVS to proper locations. Restocks shelves and rotates stock. Properly disposes of non-recyclable solutions. Maintains i.v. refrigerator temperature log.
Receives and stores incoming supplies.
Counts stock and enters data in computer to maintain inventory records.
Returns medications to stock and rotates stock. Fills requisitions from Nursing floors in a timely fashion. Can calculate appropriate medication doses based on patient's age Adult and Geriatrics.
Cleans equipment and sterilizes glassware according to prescribed methods.
