DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
Samaritan Pharmacy-Lincoln City is a community pharmacy located next to Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital. The pharmacy is open to any member of the public. The primary role of this pharmacy is to dispense community patient prescriptions. They also offer immunizations, medication management services, and discharge medications to bedside. The pharmacy is staffed by experienced pharmacists and pharmacy technicians who are dedicated to patient care.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent required.
One (1) of the following required:
Current unencumbered Certified Oregon Pharmacy Technician License.
Currently enrolled first year PharmD student in good standing with an accredited pharmacy school and current unencumbered Oregon Board of Pharmacy Intern license.
Successful completion of Medical Pharmacy Technician course preferred.

What You'll Do:
Provide patient care services as assigned, which include but are not limited to:
Drug Utilization Review
Patient Counseling
Medication Therapy Management
Perform Collaborative Drug Therapy Management or other post-diagnostic disease state management, pursuant to a valid agreement
Prescribe drug or device, as authorized by statute, according to Drug Therapy Management Protocols
Order, interpret, and monitor laboratory tests
Receive or transfer of a prescription
Provide direct oversight of pharmacy personnel, ensuring work is within the scope of practice and duties of their licensure
Ensure the security of the pharmacy area, including the provision of adequate safeguards against theft or diversion of prescription drugs
Ensure all records and inventories are maintained in accordance with state and federal laws
Ensure new prescriptions, refills, and drug orders are correctly dispensed according to the provider's authorization and YVFWC policies and procedures
Maintain active licensure and pharmacological knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing professional networks, and participating in professional societies
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

EDUCATION
Completion of accredited university pharmacy program and successful passing of competency exams meeting state regulations.
LICENSURE
Current and unrestricted license to practice as a pharmacist in the state of practice; NAPB examination.
EXPERIENCE
One year of current experience as a Pharmacist in a clinical setting.
CREDENTIALS

Counsels patients and/or medical practitioners on drug indications/contraindications, dosage, drug interactions, and side effects; provides other drug and pharmaceutical information as appropriate.
Oversees the acquisition and disbursement of drugs and medications to various offices, clinics, and other sites.
Provides guidance and training to pharmacy interns during course of work and monitors performance.
Establishes and maintains methods and manner of storage and record keeping systems to provide for safekeeping of pharmaceuticals.
Takes patient histories as required; makes initial clinical assessments and refers patients to appropriate clinicians.
Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.

Job Description
This project is in the proposal stage, we're awaiting to be awarded the contract.
International Health and Medical Services is looking for an experienced Pharmacist to manage the procurement, dispensing, and monitoring of medications to ensure safe and effective pharmaceutical care for patients. This role includes collaborating with healthcare providers to optimize medication management, provide drug information, and contribute to the overall health and well-being of the patient population.
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the medication delivery system and assures that the integrity of all medications is maintained and is properly stored.
Responsible for participating in quality assurance activities regarding medications to maintain quality patient care and cost-effective medication management.
Responsible for the records and reports related to the purchase, receipt and disposition of drugs and related supplies.
Responsible for the delivery of pharmaceutical care including patient centered, outcomes-orientated pharmacy practice.
Work in concert with the patient and other healthcare providers to promote health; prevent disease; and assess, monitor, initiate and modify medication use to ensure that drug therapy regimens are safe and effective.
Dispense formulary medications.
Prescriptions are filled at local pharmacies which are part of the Script Care Network (or other designated Pharmacy Benefits Manager).

Qualifications
Basic Requirements/Certifications:
Current and unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in the state of Oregon
American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS).
Trained in Basic First Aid.
Employees shall have at least one year of general experience that demonstrates the following:
The ability to greet and deal tactfully with the public.
Capability of understanding and applying written and verbal orders, rules, and regulations. All personnel shall be literate and be able to interpret printed rules and regulations, detailed written orders, training instructions and materials, and must be able to compose reports.
Good judgment, courage, alertness, an even temperament, and render satisfactory performance through knowledge of his/her position responsibilities.
Ability to maintain poise and self-control during situations that involve mental stress, such as fires, explosions, civil disturbances, and building evacuations.
Education Required:
A doctoral degree in Pharmacy that is recognized by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. OR
Three (3) years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree, Ph.D., Pharm.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.
Physical Requirements:
This position is considered hazardous duty.
Required to walk unaided at a normal pace for up to 5 minutes and maintain balance.
Required to jog/fast walk up to ¼ mile.
Requires physical exertion such as lifting objects greater than 30 pounds.
Required to perform CPR/emergency care standing or kneeling.
Must have the ability to assist sick, injured, or aging patients or staff exiting the building (may require lifting, dragging, wheeling, or carrying someone who weighs significantly more than self).
Must be able to see, hear and smell with aids if necessary.
Must be able to lift, push, or carry 30 pounds.
Must perform the duties of my job in a stressful and often austere environment without physical limitations.
Sitting and/or standing for extended periods of time.
Average manual dexterity for computer operation.
Phone or computer use for extended periods of time.
Other Special Qualifications:
Minimum of 21 years of age.
Must maintain current/physical residency in the continental U.S.
Pass a medical examination conducted by a licensed physician within 30 days prior to initial assignment.
Be a U.S. citizen or a person lawfully admitted into the U.S. for permanent residence.
Have resided in the U.S. for the last five years (unless abroad on official U.S. government duty).
Successfully engage in and complete a thorough Background Investigation.
Poses or have ability to obtain required security clearances.
Proficiency in Spanish is preferred.
